Payant has been promoted to the grade of corporal at Camp Wolters. Tex. Mrs. Payant and their daughter, Patty, are In Texas with the corporal. a Home From Idaho Harold Harris, AS, son of Ernest Harris, route 4, box 389-G, is home this week from Farragut, Ida., where he has been taking navy train ing. Prentice arrived in Med ford last night from Austin, Tex., for a brief visit with the of ficer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Prentice, 517 Newtown street. Lt. Prentice, pilot of a C-47, has been assigned to over seas duty. ' Visits Family Willard E. Cave, MoMM 2c, USNR, arriv ed in Medford Sunday evening to visit his wife and family at 822 West 12th street. Cave has been serving on an amphibious ship of the LSM type on Pacific duty for 11 months. He returns to San Francisco Wednesday. ' Bids Asked Bids for opera tion of the postal sub-station No. 1 will be accepted until 2 p. m. March 22 Frank DeSouza, post master, stated today. Traffic Accident E. E. Monia, 1225 Niantic street, hit a car driven by Sgt. James H. McGill 802 West Jackson Blvd., while going north at the North River side and Crater Lake highway intersection yesterday according to an accident report on file. ERVIN M'CALL Ervin McCall, 93, a resident of Prospect for 50 years, passed away Monday following several years of illness. Arrangements are in care of the Conger-Morris chapel. BOVERINE INFANT Sally Jane Boverine, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Boverine, Medford, passed away in a local hospital Monday night. Also surviving are the grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest C. Rice. Services will be held at the graveside in IOOF cemetery at 11 a. m. Wednesday with the Rev. Delbert Daniels officiating. Ararngements are in care of the Conger-Morris chapel. JOHN R. MORRIS . Services were held in the Conger-Morris chapel Monday afternoon for John R. Morris, who passed away Saturday at his home in Jacksonville. Inter ment was in Jacksonville ceme tery. He was born In Tea Garden, Ind., December 4, 1885. On July 31, 1915, in Salt Lake City, he was united in marriage to1 Mary T. Lindberg, who survives. He came to Jacksonville in 1937. He s a member of the IOOF lodge, Jacksonville, and the Eagles lodge, Medford., Survivors besides his wife are two children, James A. Morris. Seattle, and Mrs. Mildred Rosen baum, Los Angeles. The auxiliary if preparing a chicken dinner to be served at 6:30 o'clock. Throughout the dinner hour there will be entertainment by a Camp Prescott Mexican quar tet, both instrumental and sing ing. The talented Mexicans, some of whom have, appeared on the radio in Mexico City, have en tertained many times in the val ley. A good orchestra also has been secured for entertainment and dancing after the dinner. There will be no business meeting, and all Legionnaires and Auxiliary members are Invited, especially veterans of World War II.
