1 LOCAL and Back From Portland Mrs. Mary Brown returned Monday from a short visit and shopping trip to Portland and has resumed her work at he Medford Irriga tion district office. Permit Issued William Hoff. 329 Kennett street, received a permit at the office of the city superintendent today to shingle a building at his residence, at cost of about $70. Holmes Hare Bob Holmes visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cole Holmes, 6 Keene Way drive, last week end, returning Monday evening to Boulder Colo., where he Is starting his final term in electrical engineer ing at the University of Colora do. He is studying under the navy's V-12 trainine program. In France John Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Jensen 418 Park street, is now in France with a signal corps unit, a letter from him which arrived a few davs aRo stated. He has been promoted to fifth grade technic ten. Cnl. Jensen, who has been in the army about two years, is a graduate of St Mary's academy and was a student at Oregon State college before entering the army. Transferred Gerald Stover stonhons a son of Mrs. Anna B Steohens. Talent, has comp'eted training at the naval air teen nlcnl renter at Norman, Okla., and will now be transferred to another station or assigned to a ship, a release from Norman states. He was given the rating of seaman second class, oiepn eraduate of Talent htsh school, enlisted in the navy in July of 1944. Report Accidents Cars driv en by Mrs. Adra E. Walker, 245 Lyman avenue, and E. L. Powell collided yesterday when Powell failed to see Mrs. Walker's auto mobile going south at the inter section of Eighth and Bartlett streets. Plaskett Home Bill Plaskett arrived in Medford yesterday for brief visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin R. Plaskett. 11 Highland drive. He has Just completed naval "boot" training at Memphis. Tenn., and returns there for training as an aviation radio crewman. Young Plaskett. who played end with Medford's championship football team last fall, is a member of the 1945 graduating class of Medford senior high school." Commissioned Elmer Bashaw received his commission as an ensisn in the United States naval reserve at the University of Cali fornia at Los Angeles graduation exercises held Saturday, Feb. 24.
