Newspaper Page TextINVITED TO HEAR Tl Mrs. Helen Carlton' Smith, world traveler and lecturer who has recently returned from Eng land, will speak at an open meet ing of Jackson county home economics extension . units on Thursday, February 15, at the courthouse auditorium, at 1:30 p.m.,- according 'to Marian J. Farrell, home demonstration agent. The meeting will be open to the public. Mrs., Smith is vice chairman of the Associated Country Wom en of the World, an organization of rural women founded in 1930 to promote better understanding among the rural people of all nations. Since beginning of the war, Mrs. Smith has been work ing with the British ministry of information bringing to the Eng lish people a better understand ing of American people and cus toms. Mrs. Smith has been active in the work of the Women's Insti tutes in England, which are com parable to our Home Extension Units. It is expected that she will tell of wartime conditions in England, and latest informa tion on the progress of the Asso ciated Country Women of the World. Preceding the meeting th home extension committees of jacKson, Josephine, Coos and Klamath counties will meet at the Holland Hotel for luncheon with Mrs. Smith. .
