The' sergeant holds the distinguished flying cross, the air medal, two unit citations and five oak leaf clusters. Parke Returns Warren Parke, soundman first class in the navy, has returned to this country after spending 27 months in the south Pacific. Parke met his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Parke, in LaCres centa, Calif., and the three came to Medford together. Upon ex piration of his leave Parke will report to school for advanced training. The young man was erroneously reported missing in action a short time agq, causing much anxiety to relatives and friends. The Parkes will leave Medford tomorrow for Portland to visit other relatives. Another brother, Francis Parke, is also In the navy. To Have Dinner The annual New Year's day dinner of the Get Together club will be held at the Eagles' hall,, 217 West Main street, at 1 p. m. tomor row. It is stated that all mem bers in good standing and the members of their immediate families are invited to attend. Special arrangements must be made for guests. Dinner will be followed by a card party. Truck Accident A truck owned by the Younger Service Appliance company was in a collision with a passenger car driven by Jack Forde of 314 South Holly street Friday. The accident occurred at the Stewart avenue and King street inter section. The truck was travelling at 30 miles per hour as it ap proached the intersection ac cording to the report filed at the police station. Name of the truck driver was not known. Bus Accident A Greyhound bus bound for Medford was side swiped by a truck after mid night Friday, about sevpn mllpc southeast of Ashland on U. S. highway 99, according to a traf fic report filed at the police sta tion. Both vehicles suffered minor damage but none of the bus passengers or drivers were injured. Hugh Colhouer, 808 West Jackson street, was the bus driver. The truck was operated by Edward P, Schwerds of Port land. ,15, E Lois Skillengstad, 15-year-old daughter of a Mrs. Skillengstad of 1351 27th street, San Fran cisco, who was confined in the Medford county jail Friday eve ning, went home with her moth er Saturday night without fur ther ado after ' an unsuccessful runaway. The child's mother phoned Medford police authorities long distance that Lois had left San Francisco on a Greyhound bus at 9 a. m. bound for Tacoma. She requested the girl be taken off the bus here and held in Jail until she arrived Saturday night to take her home.
