EIGHT MEDrORD MAIL TfilBJNE Tuaaday, Dk IS. 1144 Your Health and Its Care BY OR WILLIAM BRADY. M. 0. Readers should address Inquiries lei Dr. William Brady . .284 El CamlDO. Bavarly Kllla. ' Calif. SO YOU'RE GOINO I address this talk to young men exclusively. Others who lis ten In must do so at weir own peril. ....X:sf - First I offer a bit of advice to every young man who reads this column. Do you con template mar riage or are you too wise to be so tied down? All right, you are not that kind. Well, then, do raise a family. ..1svv r- 1 W v. , Dr. Brady - you Intend to God willing, while you both are young and fit and happy? Or Is there enough of the rat in you. after all, to make you, think it would be better to wait a year or two, and have some fun or get the furniture, car or. h o u s e paid for or get a lease with a clause In it before you have a baby? You may, of course, get out of debt In a few years, you may even pay as you go and save a little besides. But don't kid your self. That has little to do with happiness. I know. I was there. In the early days of practice more than once I had to go and hock my watch to stave off dire privation but we were the rich est people in town, for we had a baby. Despite the privations of our situation (and probably my shocking lack of business sagac ity) we were young and fit and happy AND we had our baby. . Very well, You're a man', not rat. You'll be happy If you have a baby, even If you haven't s fine clotWes, furniture or front as many of the rats you know. Your first concern, then, Is to have tne finest baby you can, and accordingly It Is up to you to learn everything there is to learn about prenatal care study everything right along with your wife, go with her to the doctor for instruction and advice and as chosen head of the family' see that prospective mother and child get the best of care from the very beginning and this is matter of intelligence, not of : - i IbBI HAS A NICE FACE, TOO When Helen Ragttn Journeyed from Ohio to bring back a thousand autographs for members of the . bhlo chapter of the Bob Johnston fan club, she arrived at oppor tune time. Too many young men take the attitude, that a wife's prepara tion for maternity is not a prop er subject for the husband to be too concerned about. This is the way some hospital superintend ents, head nurses and staff physicians like it. If .they can keep the husband cooling his heels in the corridor or waiting room, . that gives them complete freedom to perpetrate breaches of the rules of obstetric or surgi cal asepsis and whatever neglect it Dleases - them to intact on mother or child I know, be cause I have been there. J. i Answer I am flad to send the pamphlet on psoiiaals to any reader who provides stamped pre-addreaied envelope and mentions iu "The Sil very Scale Disease." Do not send a clipping In lieu of your own request. Frankly I don't know whether vita min A alone, vitamin D alone, or both combined, would be most effective against psoriasis. I wish some of our readers who have the trouble would try It out by taking only A, as di rected In the pamphlet, for several months; then, If not much Improved, taking only D for several months; finally, if still not much better, tak ing both together for several months.
