In other words you (or your
druggist) dissolve in three fluid-
ounces of the liquid universally
called elixir of lactated pepsin
all the Epsom salts that will dls
sove in it, and add to it, if you
can get it, an ounce of glycerin
(about two tablespoonsful).
There's the main difficulty
just now there is a restriction
on the sale of glycerin except on

course you can't expect your

sician's prescription in that re
spect. You must have a. bona
fide prescription signed by your
own physician. .
I know, of no substitute fof
the glycerin in the formula. It
may work fairly well If you use
four fluidounces of the elixer of
lactated pepsin instead of three
fluidounces and the glycerin. ,
You are by no means the first
reader who has experienced
difficulty In following the In
structions in the booklet for the
non-surgical drainage of the

with the extreme shortage of
print paper it became chronic

Grants Pass, Dee. 4 for medical
treatment. He was accompanied

The latter two were recently
discharged from the armed serv
ices. Otto was a corporal in the
army, and was given an honor
able discharge after serving two
years. Ralph Herman, a chief
motor machinist mate in the
navy, received a medical dis
charge, after three years in the
service, two of which were in
me new Guinea and New He
brides area.
Mrs. Frances Hornbuckle,
who has been clerk at Grieve's
Prospect store for the past two
years, resigned recently, on ac
count of ill health.

dren, Leroy and Donna, Mrs.

wood, left Dec. 1 for Camp
Wolters, Texas, where their hus

Missing and his fate unknown
for over two years, Captain Wil
liam H. Owen, cousin of James
Owen, ' Siskiyou Heights, this
city, has at last been .located as
a. prisoner of the Japanese
"somewhere in the Philippines."
"Jim" Owen recently received a
letter from his cousin's wife at
her home In West Frankfort, 111.,
giving ' him the Information
which was a great relief to him
and all members of the Owen
family, as it was feared Captain
Owen had been killed when the
Philippines were captured by
the Japanese nearly three years
ago. He was in the regular army
stationed in Manila at the time
of the attack on Pearl Harbor,
his wife and family getting
away from Manila only a few
weeks before the islands fell and
