1 I HAN TODAY Raymond Massey, Peter Lorre In Cast "Nine Girls" Rialto Feature " The poisonous pranks of two lovable but, distinctly pixilated old maids are laughingly re counted in Warner Bros.' lethal farce, "Arsenic and' Old Lace," starring tary uram, opening to-day at the Craterian wiTn a Dmuuui supporting cast including Raymond Massey, Jack Carson, Prlscilla Lane and Peter Lorre, the film is based on the stage success of the same name by Joseph Kesseling, which ran for mure than . four years on Broadway under the production aegis of Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. "Arsenic and Old Lace" is concerned with two Brooklyn Borgias, whose consuming pas sion is to murder their lonely male boarders. This they accom plish with the unwitting aid of an equally daft nephew, who thinks he's "Teddy" Roosevelt. The return of a second and criminally insane nephew (wanted by the police) with still another corpse, adds to the com plications. Discovery of what s going on by the only sane Brew ster in the lot (a third nephew, who is a dramatic critic) brings 4 matters to a head. Nevertheless, it all works out happily. "Nine Girls" and "Oh, What a Night" are featured on the Rialto's twin-bill opening to day. CALENDAR 1:00 p. m. AAUW Arts study group, home of Mrs. Charles B.
