Dean was sta tioned at the Medforc. air base until recently and now Is at the Fresno base. Prior to coming to Medford the sergeant was on shore patrol along the Carib bean sea for a considerable period. Mrs. Fisher returned to Med ford Monday, having stopped en route home-to visit arson In Pittsburg, Cal. . Visitors Leave For Canal Zone . Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Davis left the county several days ago for Ban Francisco and Los Angeles nd from there continued by air to their home In the Panama canal zone. Mr. and Mrs. Davis had been, in the states for the .past four1 months visiting rela tives and were guests of Mrs. Davis1 parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Ward of Talent. White In the valley Mr. and; Mrs. Davis, were entertained at number of social functions. Including dinner parties and teas. . State President Of Rebekah Lodge Guest In Medford Ethel Bailey, Roseburg, state president of the Rebekah As-; sembly of Oregon; paid an of ficial visit Monday night to Olive Rebekah lodge No. 28 in Medford. Other guests at the meeting were State Warden Suda Comstock of Baker, Ore.; State Conductor Alma Kofer of Klamath Falls; Mr. and Mrs. William Reid of Center, Colo.. and Mr. Bailey. Mr. Ried is a former past grand master ot the Colorado Odd Fellows' lodge. The Victory committee of the lodge gave a beautiful tribute to servicemen and women in the armed forces and the degree staff, under the direction of W. H. Dyer, Initiated three candi dates. Mrs. Bailey told of her visits to other lodges in the state and spoke about the Odd Fellows' home In Portland. Mrs. Bailey Is making up a fund to buy a station wagon which Is needed by the home. Mrs. Ina Huson. assisted by eight F. L. girls, pre sented Mrs. Bailey with a gift and all visiting officers were nre- sented corsages. Several visitors gave short talks. Plans were made for the next meeting, to . be December 4, when the annual homecoming will be held. A dinner will be held at 6:30 p. m. for all Odd Fellows and their wives and Re bekahs and their husbands. Aft er brief lodge session there will be program and roll call. Carolyn Edwards, Emily Con rad and Bessie Hubler make un the entertainment committee for the homecoming meeting and Mary Cave will be chairman of the dinner committee, assisted by Myrtle Newton as co-chair man and a committee from the Odd fellow lodge. Beeson The marriage of Mis Joyce Birkemeier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel R. Birkemeier, Milwaukie, Ore., to Lt. Emmett William Beeson, United States army, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Beeson, Talent, was solemnized Tuesday, Oct. 81 at the . post chapel at Camp Robinson, Ark Chaplain Sagen officiated at the double ring ceremony, Mr. Birkemeier, father ot the bride, was soloist and Cpl. Gibson played the wedding music. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. She wore an ivory slipper satin gown with a seed pearl embroidery yoke and long fitted sleeves. Her full tulle veil fell from a Juliet cap, and she carried an arm bouquet of white carnations centered with a white orchid. Mrs. Robert Rau, the former Jeannette Ross of Portland, was matron of honor. She wore an orchid marquisette frock and carried a bouquet of matching flowers. Lt. Richard Birkemeier, bro ther of the- bride, was best man and ushers were Lt. York and Lt.. Mann of Camp Robinson. As the ' bridal party left the chapel it passed through a guard of honor composed of enlisted men from Lt. Beeson's battalion. Instead of the traditional ride in a caisson, the bridal party was taken in a Jeep to the Offi cers club where a reception was held. Mrs. Harris served the three-tiered cake and Mrs. Maze served the punch.. The young couple cut the cake with a saber. Mr. and Mrs. Birkemeier and Mrs. Beeson went east for the ceremony. Other out-of-town guests were Mrs. H. Bailey Hughes of Dallas, Tex. Mrs. Robert Rau of Ft. Smith, Ark., and Lt. Richard Birkemeier ot Ft. Worth, Texas. After a short trip to Memphis. Tennessee, Lt. and Mrs. Beeson will be at home at Ft. SilL Okla. 'ine bride is a graduate of the Milwaukie schools and a student of Oregon State Colleae where she is a member of Kappa Alpha jneia, social sorority. Lit. James Doolittle on the Tokyo raid pic tured in the film and is one of two men reported as missing since the raid. (Photo by Holiday Dinners Given At Camp; Dance At Outpost ' Officers stationed at Camp White, their wives and families were at the post Thursday for the holiday dinners, each unit at the camp having made special preparations for the day. At the Station Hospital Thanksgiving dinner was served at noon tor officers, enlisted men and civilian employees at the hospital, and wives and fam ilies were special guests. In the evening dinner was served at the SCU Officers' club for of ficers and their families, with Lt. Arnold M. Withers In charge. The prisoner of war 'detachment also enjoyed an evening Thanks giving dinner, with Lt. Homer C. Woods making arrangements. Wednesday evening a large group of officers and guests at tended, a formal dance at the Outpost In Medford. In addition to the usual dance program a number ot contest dances were held during the evening and prizes awarded for these. Sup per was served at the close of the evening. . . , ' ' Mrs, Holmes Returns ' t To Make Home Here Mra. Theodore B. Holmes ar rived in Medford last week to make her home with -her father S e t h M. Bullis, 15 Florence avenue. Mrs. Holmes has been in Kearney, Neb., with her hus band, -First Lt. Holmes of the army air corps, but returned to Medford following his re-assign ment to overseas duty. Dates (or the first tour of the five concerts to be scheduled for the 1944-45 concert season of the Jackson County Civic Music association were announced yes terday by Seth Bullis, president Date of the last concert will be announced later.
