CORLIES Services for Mrs. Minnie B. Corlies, wife of Frank B. Cor lies, who passed away Thursday morning,- will, be held in the Methodist Church at 2:30 p. m. Monday with the Rev. Louis C. CECIL JENNINGS Cecil Jennings, a former resi dent of Medford, passed way In Los Angeles, No vernier 11, at the age of 51. The ' award was presented at a re cent ceremony by Lt. Col. Rob ert W. Fish, deputy command ing officer of this station. ' ' Lt. Green Is bombardier on a giant B-24 Liberator operating from this heavy bomber base. Flying many missions over enemy territory, he is taking an active part in the aerial assault now being carried against the enemy. Lt. Green Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David O. Green, 2719V4 48th street, Longview, Wash. His wife, Mrs. Bonnie Ellen Green, lives with his par ents. He was graduated from Medford high school in 1930 and was emoloyed by the Mail Trib- . , .. une before his entry into thei army in January, 1940. (UB Sighting the opening of a new era of reclamation a third and greater era of basin-wide de velopments, William E. Warne. assistant commissioner of the U. S. . Bureau of Reclamation here today outlined a port-war reclamation program buttressed by plans for the settlement of returning servicemen and de mobilized war workers on fam ily farms. . Sneaking before the 13th an nual convention of the National Reclamation association; Warne said, "from 1847 when the Mor mons' diverted City creek to water potatoes ' in the Utah desert, irrigation has come a It has progressed through two phases of develop ment, and I believe I see a third and greater era of reclamation." The third era, as outlined by Warne, follows the Initial period of simple diversions and patch work Irrigation of the bottom lands along hundreds of streams and the second phase marked by the passage of the reclamation act which brought growth and development of irrigation through the multiple purpose project. Fllegel left Medford to day for Portland where he was called by the death of his mother who passed away this morning at her home there. Mrs. Josephine Fllegel, in declining health for many months, was 77 years old. The deceased, born January 30, 1867. is survived bv four chll- dren and two grandsons.
