Stocks lost fractions to more
than a point today in what has
come to be regarded as cus
tomary Monday selling.
A factor in the decline, how
ever, was said to be the recom
mendation of a leading business
service that holdings be dis
posed of at this time In order
to pocket profits.
The service said caution still
should be exercised in view of
the uncertainty as to extent of
the war in Europe and the "seri
ous doubts" that taxes, pricing
policies and other regulations
are to be revised In such a man
ner to permit satisfactory prof
its during reconversion.
