D. Murray, commander of the
air force for the Pacific fleet,
disclosed today.

ing to a letter received here
from his parents, now. in San
Diego. Pfc. Nelsen was reported
missing since October 19.

B-17, is on a 21 day leave. Be

ert Gale Rice, son of Captain
and Mrs. Gale Rice, 719 West
11th street, has received a medi
cal discharge from the ' navy.
Rice was stationed at Farragut.
Idaho. He graduated from Med--ford
high school and attended
Oregon State college before en

Camp Gruber, Okla., to visit his
wife and daughter, Mrs. Tom

Col. Hartley was formerly sta
tioned at Camp White, and his
family are now making their
home here.

Nicholas C. Benjamin are the
parents of a son bora November
7 at Sacred Heart hospital in
Medford. Mrs. Benjamin is the
former Peggy Corum, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Corum,
and has been making her home
with her parents at 317 South
Orange street. Cpl. Benjamin is
with the 96th Infantry division
now engaged in active combat
in the Philippine islands. The
infant, which weighed five
pounds and 12 ounces, has been
named Nicholas Chester n.
