Clark by the slim margin of 202
votes in the Idaho primary, but
he built up nearly 4,000-vote
lead at the general election to
defeat Gov. C. A. Bottolfsen, the
Republican candidate.

his earlier years entertained
thousands of persons in his own
tent theater shows that played

Bob Hope's suspension was of
ficial today, Paramount Studio
officials said today because he
refused to play in a picture that
was supposed to Tiave gone be
fore the cameras last Monday.
A spokesman said Hope made
two of the three Paramount pic
tures called for under his con
tract ' this year and then told
the studio he did not want to
make any more films in 1944.

To Have Carnival
Tomorrow Evening
Central Point, Nov. 9 Cen
tral Point High school will pre
sent its annual school carnival
in the high school gymnasium
tomorrow night, November 10.
The carnival is sponsored by
the Order of the C, the high
school letterman club. The high
light of the evening will be the
crowning of the carnival queen,
who will be chosen from the
four candidates by votes derived
from previously sold tickets.
There will be the usual con
cessions, soft drinks, pop corn
and hot dogs. The high school
band will present a program of
music.
Festivities will begin at 7:30
and the crowning of the queen
will be at approximately 9
o'clock.
The admission charge will be
10 cents and the publico is in
vited to attend.
