Cal houn, 63, were both sentenced to ten days in the city Jail, to day, for being drunk on a public street. Vogel, who sent home his medal, is said to be well on the j way to recovery at an exercis I ing hospital in England. ! ' Iven Brothers Home Lt. Neil Iven and Lt. Bob Iven army air corps, are both in Medford to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Iven, 1008 West 4th street. Lt. Neil Iven will leave tonight for Santa Monica. He has Just recently returned from overseas. Lt. Bob Iven will leave Saturday for Peterson Field, Colo. Lt. Neil Iven is a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Medford. In Tucson Barbara Boyden, yeoman 2d class, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Z. Boyden of this city, is now stationed in Tucson, Ariz., on the University ! of Arizona campus. Miss Boyden is doing stenographic work. She is a graduate of Medford high school and attended Southern Oregon College of Education. j Her brothers, Ensign Charles Boyden and Pvt. 1st Class Mark Boyden, are both overseas. j Friends Meet Pvt. Gordon1 Hayes writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Hayes of 724 Alder street, that he frequently sees Lee Reynolds, also of Med-, ford. Pvt. Hayes is stationed on New Guinea with a medical de-j tachment and Reynolds is with a medical unit of an Infantry! division. Pvt. Hayes also inform-1 ed his panents that he had cast his first ballot, using the ab- j sentee form set up for the use of servicemen overseas. He and Reynolds enjoy their visits very much, Pvt. Hayes wrote. I I On Colorado Team Dick Morrow, student in the navy V-12 program and son of Mrs.1 Alberta Morrow formerly of this city, Is playing half-back on the University of Colorado's, football team. On October 14, Morrow led the Golden Buf faloes in a 26-0 victory over their traditional rivals, the Uni versity of Utah. Morrow attend ed Medford high before moving to McMinnville, Ore. Before en listing in the navy he was en rolled at Oregon State college. He was a member of Beta Theta Po social fraternity. TO E Medford Junior high school's annual carnival will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, in the newly decorated auditorium at 7:30 p. m. it was announced today. Planned for this big event of the year are games, varied food booths and a program centering around Ray Henderson's Min strels. On the second floor of the building there will be many side shows, including the Fun House, Beauty Shop, Style Show and Amateur Show. It is pointed out that the in come from this affair, the one money-making event of the school year, finances all student body activities. Among these are the Junior high school newspa per, motion picture equipment, athletic expenses, various medals and awards and the assemblies for which paid talent is procured.
