Minor Collision Elton Hans com, Central Point, and Warren H. Conrad, Rt. 4, drove passen ger cars involved in a minor ac cident on South Grape street, Monday, according to a report on file. Transferred Joseph James McCallister has been trans ferred from the naval training station at Farragut, Ida., to a training school in California. . McCallister's parents are Mr. and Mrs. H. M. McCallister of the Griffin Creek district. Footprinters To Meet Med ford chapter of the Internation al Footprinters' association will meet Thursday of this week at Chalker's. The meeting will be for members and invited guests and will be preceded by dinner at 7 p. m. There will be initia tion of new members. Change Chairman Mrs. W. Alex Kuehlthau will serve as hostess chairman for the meet ing of Sojourners' club Thurs day of this week instead of Mrs. Ted Hornecker, as previously announced. Reservations are to be made with Mrs. Kuehlthau, whose phone number Is 4109. Steve Dippel Here Steve Dippel, son of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph S. Dippel of North Barne burg Road, Medford, and Ray Morrison, of San Francisco, were in Medford to visit Dr. and Mrs. Dippel over the week end. Both young men are stu dents at the University of Ore gon. Staf fords Return Col. and Mrs. Ben Stafford and son, Bruce, have returned to this city from- Fort Devens, Mass. The Staffords were formerly with the C.C.C. In Medford. They are now making their home at 21 Vancouver avenue, and Bruce is attending Medford High school. Col. Stafford plans to retire from active duty in December after 34 years of serv ice. Lowds Returning Mrs. Phil Lowd arrived Monday from St. Helens, Ore., where Sgt, Phil Lowd of the state police game division has been stationed for the past few years from where he is being transferred to the Medford area. The transfer will ba effective November X. Sgt. J and Mrs. Lowd formerly resid-1 ed In Medford, leaving here 1 ahout 11 veara ago when he was I transferred to . duty in the Grants Pass region. He will fill the vacancy created by the transfer of Walter Scheldereiter to Lakeview. In St. Louis Mrs. William Ehrman, the former Dorothy Hayes, and a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Hayes, East Main street, is in St. Louis to spend several months with her sister, Miss Mary Hayes. She accom panied Miss Hayes when the lat ter returned to St. Louis after a late summer vacation here. Miss Hayes is an instructor in the medical social service de partment of Washington Univer sity. Mrs. Ehrman, a Red Cross nurses' aide, is now working four days a week at a children's hospital in St. Louis. Dr. and Mrs. Hayes' youngest daughter, Virginia, is a sophomore this winter at the University of Ore gon and Mrs. George Smith, an other daughter, is on the staff of Barnes General hospital, Van couver Barracks, Wash. Tengwald, Kings highway, Med ford, and Claude Murphy, state real estate commissioner from Portland, left last night for Portland to supervise real estate examinations in that city. Flu Fires The chemical truck was. called out twice yesterday to extinguish minor flue fires. One was at the residence of B. M. Lininger. 608 South Oakdale. and the other at St. Mark's Epis copal church at 5th and Oakdale avenue. e Col. Jackson Home Lt. Col. Glenn Jackson, army air corps, Is in Medford for five days. Mrs. Jackson and daughter, Cynthia, make their home at 1917 E. Main street. Col. Jackson has lately come from the European theater of war. Nancy Wall Leaves Miss Nancv Wall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Etha W. Wall, Ross lane, leaves tonight for Portland where she will take her physical examination for the Waves. Miss Wall is a graduate of Medford high school and has been em ployed at Camp White for the last two years. Examiner Coming A travel ing examiner of operators and chauffers is scheduled to arrive at the K. P. hall and will be on duty Oct. 27 and 28 from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m.
