GREETINGS from TROWBRIDGE & FLYNN ELEGT.RIO CO. 214 W. Main HOTEL ALLEN 104 EAST MAIN Joint with the citiieni of this city and the Rogue River Valley in paying tribute to the CRATERIAN for 20 years of splendid service! Heartiest Congratulations to the management and staff of the Craterian Theatre upon this 20th Anniversary. We are grateful, too, for the contribu tions that the Craterian's foun der, George A. Hunt, made to the progress and happiness of this entire community. We pay tribute to hit memory upon this Anniversary occasion! 0 MEDFORD BRANCH 1st. National Bank of PORTLAND, OREGON Observance of the 20th anni versary of Hunt's Craterian theatre here this week recalls pleasant memories of old-time show houses in this city, when "diammer" flickered on ' the screen to bring "ohs" and "ahs" from tense movie fans. Even before the silent films people came by team and gas buggy to attend stage shows at the old opera house, situated where the Hotel Jackson is now located. This old structure was destroyed by fire a third of a century ago. Old timers will remember the super-colossal production, "The I Battle of Gettysburg', one of the first six-reelers, at the old "It" theatre on West Main street. While the Biju and It theatres were luring the cinema fans with such thrillers as "The J Million Dollar Mystery" and ; widely heralded "Brewster's Millions", the Star, Isis and Ugo theatres were keeping Rogue River Valley theatre-goers on the edge of their chairs with b r e a t h-t a k i ng super-serials, The Perils of Pauline, and the "Exploits of Elaine". The arch sleuth, Craig Kennedy was also pursuing the elusive "Clutching Hand" on the Star theatre's screen while the piano player labored long and loudly to pro vide the "musics and effects." When the Page theatre, lo cated near the Bear Creek bridge where the Roxy Is now situated, opened Medford thea tre fans revealed in the top mu sical shows of the country. The great and near great of stage and screen were featured at this "ultra-modern" show house. Here the great Jolson, Kolb and Dill, May Robson and top-flight stage stars performed. "Up in Love" and scores of delightful musical shows drew crowds I from Klamath Falls to Curry i County. I VOID DIVORCES AFTiR 7 YE : Providence, R. I. (U.R) After j a seven-year divorce period.
