Cancol Meeting The meeting pf the Friday luncheon club scheduled for this week has been cancelled, it was announc ed today. The club will meet in October. Miss Bullis Away Miss Helen Bullis, 15 Florence street, has gone to Hays, Kan., to spend three weeks with Lt. and Mrs. Theodore Holmes. Mrs. Holmes is a niece of Miss Bullis. 4 Casper Here Pvt. Donald Casper is here spending a 14-day furlough visiting his wife and daughter and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Casper, all of whom reside on the Old Stage road. Pvt. Casper, will leave Sept. 14 to report to his new station at Camp Robinson, Ark. Eagles' Meeting Crater Lake Aerie No. 2093 and auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles will meet in the Eagles hall, 219 West Main street, Thursday at 8 p.m. Committee reports will be heard and balloting done, and the evening will conclude with a dance. Is Midshipman Manfred I. Douglas, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. 1. Douglas of 20 Barnes avenue, who recently completed a junior college course in science under the navy V-12 program at the . Visiting Cousin Miss Anna Morreffey of Los Angeles, Calif., arrived in Medford yesterday to spend a few weeks with her cousin, Mrs. R. C. Yost, King's highway. Mul len of Route 1 drove cars in volved in a slight mishap on West Mam between Grape and Holly streets Tuesday afternoon according to a report on file to day. Machines operated by W. H. Kellogg of 717 East Jacksqn boulevard and Earl H. Hanscom of Eagle Point were involved in a minor accident at Fourth and Fir streets Tuesday morning, a filed report said today. Completes Course Miss Ruth Fitch, who has been training at Camp White as a physio-therapist, has completed her course and will be commissioned Sept. 13 as a second lieutenant in the army nurse corps. The training has extended over the past six months. Miss Fitch is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Fitch, Rt. 1. e Training Described Pvt. Roy C. Gray describes some phases of the infantry training which he is undergoing at Camp Wol ters, Tex., in a recent letter to a Medford friend, rvi. uray states that he has had training with the rifle, carbine, rifle gre nade and "bazooka" and would take up machine gun training next. Pvt. Gray was formerly a bus driver for the Rogue River Transit company. Mrs. Gray and their children reside at 7J3 South Holly street. In Albania Pfc. Hugh Power is now stationed at Brookley Field, Mobile, Ala., he states in a recent letter to a friend. Pfc. Power is assigned to an aviation icHan uiui. He stated that he disliked the humid cli mate of the south and was look ing forward to the next assign ment which was reported to be at a former resort. Pfc. Power is the son of Mrs, E. P.
