They are Floyd Vern Young, Rt. 2, Talent, 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd V. Young, and Donald Dick Hickey, Star route, Eagle Point, 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hickey.They were enlisted August 23 and are now home on inactive duty awaiting orders to report at a training station. Completes Training William Albert Bostwick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl B. Bostwick of Jack sonville, has recently completed training at the Naval Air Tech nical Training Center at Nor man, Okla., according to word received from the navy depart ment. Bostwick was the fourth highest nan in his class and upon graduation from the school at Norman received the rate of aviation ordnanceman, third class. He will now be trans ferred to a naval unit afloat or to another shore station for fur ther instruction and work. . GAIL RITES T Funeral services for Bessie Card Gail, who died Saturday noon at the home of her son, Norman Gail, in Gold Hill, will be conducted from the Perl Funeral home Wednesday of this week at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harry Hansen, pastor of the Medford Presbyterian church, will be in charge of the service. Interment will take place in Siskiyou Me morial Park. i Mrs. Gail was born at Nut wood, Ohio, Nov. 10, 1889 and was 54 years old. She spent her early life in Ohio and was edu cated in Ohio schools. She was I united in marriage to Charles :R. Gail in 1908 at Youngstown, O. The couple lived for about 1 20 years in the Dakotas before I coming to southern Oregon in ' the fall of 1929t Since coming I here the family has made many friends In the county. The deceased is survived by her husband, Charles R. Gail of Rogue River, Route 1, three sons, Norman Gail of Gold Hill, Budd Gall, United States army, and Robert Gail, United States navy. Also surviving are two brothers, C. C. Card of Youngs town, Ohio, and B. A. Card of Halliday, North Dakota, and five grandchildren. HE Ik TLY HEEDED On A P 5 STATE INTERESTED SHORE ON ROGUE Interest In the proposal of acquiring portions of the Rogue river shore line now in the Camp White territory for a state park is shown by S. H. Boardman, state parks superintendent, in a letter to the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. The pro posal has been discussed consid erably in recent weeks by county citizens. "Your proposal Is exceeding ly well taken," Mr. Boardman wrote, "and when the camp goes up for actual sale, every effort shjuld be made to secure the shore line. So much of the Rogue shore line is under private own ership that every area possible should be secured for the gen-i eral public." Boardman asked for specific information about township numbers and other pertinent ma terial and asked for a map of the Camp White river holdings and stated that on his next trip to Medford he would discuss the matter with those interested. T PAIR TOOK AUTO Russell E. Browning, 22, and Esther M. Hutchings. 20, were to be charged today with auto theft following their arrest by city police about 5 a. m. in posses sion of a 1936 Ford coupe stolen from the Automobile Market, Sixth and Bartlett streets. Herring, a resident of Medford for the past 34 years, the .family home being 28 Ross Court, and known to a host of friends, passed away in his sleep early Monday morning. Mr. Her ring was born in Pennsylvania on October 19, 1858, being aged 85 years, 10 months and B days, Although of advanced age, he was quite active until the last When a small boy he moved to Iowa with his parents, where he lived until 1910, when he came to Medford. His wife, Mrs. Eliza beth Herring, passed away in 1936. He is survived by one son. Dan Herring of Medford and one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Hartzell of Seattle, Wash., also three grand children. Funeral services will be conducted from the Perl fu neral home on Wednesday morn ing at 11 oclock, the Rev. Harry Hansen, pastor of the first Pres byterian church officiating. R., Ind., today called on congress to investigate reports that the Of fice of Price Administration has Ignored congressional mandates in administering price control and is seeking to destroy ttie profit motive in production. It Is time, he said, to ask the armed forces to "justify some of their demands" for paper.
