Davis, stationed at the army air base at Walla Walla, Wash, is in Medlord spending a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perl Davis, 14S South Grape street. To Marina Base Francis D. Duncan of 100S N. Central ave nue left for the San Diego mar ine corps base August 11, Im mediately following his enlist ment. At San Diego he will re ceive two months of "boot training. Duncan was formerly employed by a defense industry In Portland. His wife and daugh ter will residu at the local ad dress. Visitors Leave Lt. and Mrs. Dale E. McMullin and infant son left Friday evening for Tam pa, Fla, where Lt. McMullin re ports for duty August 18. Lt. McMullin graduated as a bomb er navigator July 31 from the field at San Marcos, Tex. While in the county the McMullins visited at the Stroud home on the Applegate and with Mrs. McMul lin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Sanden of 304 South Central avenue. They also went to Glen dale, Ore, where they spent some time with Lt. McMullin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Mc Mullin. While there baptismal services were held for the Mc Mullin's infant son, the cere mony being performed by the Rev. Howard, who had also bap tized the child's father many years ago. DR. A. R. Gunn, 32, Ross Lane, Rural De livery 2, Box 375, suffered a fractured left hip in an automo bile crash Friday in Portland, when the car in which she was a passenger was struck by an other machine. Mrs. Gunn was taken to St. Vincent's hospital. Officials at the Timber Products Co, where Mr. Gunn is employ ed, stated this morning that he has been on vacation, and the family was apparently visiting friends in Portland when the ac cident occurred. Daughter Born.. Cadet and Mrs. Neville Biden are the par ents of a daughter born August 10 at Orlando, Fla. The child weighed six pounds and two ounces. Cadet Biden, stationed at the army air field near Or lando for many months with the auartermaster corps, if now at ft. Lee, Va, for special training in administration and supply. Mrs. Biden, the former Bobby Pickard, has her mother, Mrs. Pickard of Bend, with her for several weeks. Cadet Biden's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Biden, 711 East Jackson boule vard. Is WASP Dorathea B. Rex- road, formerly of Medford, was a member of the fourteenth class of WASPs to complete flight training August 4 at Sweet water, Tex. Speaker at the grad uation program was Miss Jacque line Cochran, famed aviation speed queen and director of women pilots for the AAF, a re lease from Sweetwater reports. Miss Rexroad attended Medford and Jacksonville schools and later worked in the Ordnance Command shops here. She has been flying about three years and at the time of her acceptance by the WASP was secretary to the commandant of cadets at Thunderblrd Field, Phoenix. Ariz. Red stamps A8 through Z8 and A5 through DS are now valid indefinitely. Sugar stamp No. 33 in book four will be valid September 1. In France Jack Denison, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Denison of Los Angeles formerly of Med ford, is now in France with a field artillery group, according to word from his parents. A graduate of Medford high school, Denison has many friends in Medford. He has been overseas since last February, and was stationed in England until re cently. Mr. and Mrs. Denison are now living at 6047V4 Dennison street, Los Angeles. Girls Returning Girl Scouts returning tomorrow from the summer camp at Lake o' Woods are expected to arrive in Med ford about 3 p. m, and will dis embark from the busses at the Scout Headquarters on East Main street, lt was announced today. The Boy Scout camp "Camp McLoughlln," where the girls have been vacationing for the past two weeks, will be oc cupied for the next week by the Ashland Campfire girls. In Picture Gale Motley, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Caton of Prospect, former residents of Sams Valley, is now in Hollywood and is working with the cast of "Lake Placid Serenade," Republic picture starring Vera Hruba Ralston. Also in the cast Is Miss Mary Anderson, director of physical education for girls In the Med ford senior high school who at tended a summer course at U.C.L.A. earlier in the summer. Here From Everett Mrs. Scott Hubbard and son, Jimmy, of Everett, Wash, are spending several weeks in Medford visit ing Mrs. Hubbard's brothers and sisters and their families, in cluding George and Grover Corum, Mrs. Mae Cobleigh and Mrs. Lillian Ashcraft. Mrs. Hub bard will also visit Mrs. Esther Jones, a niece, and other rela tives and friends. Mrs. Hubbard was raised in the Rogue River valley and will be remembered as the former Nellie Corum. Returns Miss Nancy Swem returned to Medford this morn ing by train after spending the past three weeks in the north ern part of the state and in Washington. The first week was spent at Camp Colton, Ore, sum mer camp of the young people of Zlon Lutheran church, where Miss Swem went as a dedegatc from the Medford group. The fol lowing week she spent at Camas, Wash, as the guest of the Rev. and Mrs. Werner Jessen. Rev. Jessen was formerly pastor of the Medford Zion Lutheran church. For the past several days Miss Swem has been visiting an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Swem in Seattle. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Swem of 38 Ross Court, Miss Swem will return to work at Swem's Gift Shop tomorrow. TOYS 4 Sk I To Appear Archie R. The Pond family formerly lived in Medford. when the major was connected with the local CCC camp staff. Expected Soon Mrs. James Dodson is expected to return to Medford within a few days from Paris, Tex, where she has spent the past several weeks visiting her husband, Pvt. James E. Dod son. Pvt. Dodson is stationed at Camp Maxey, Tex. Mrs. Dodson is the former Elva Chesnut, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Chesnut of Rt. 4, Medford. Receives Wings David Leo Miksche, son of Mr. -and Mrs. R. A. Miksche of 813 Minnesota street, received his silver wings recently when he graduated as a second lieutenant from the ad vanced two-engine pilot school at Pecos army air field, Pecos, Tex, according to a news re lease from the school.
