To Graduate Herbert Ewing Harper will graduate August IS from the navy's reserve of ficers' indoctrination school at Tucson, Ariz., and will be com missioned an ensign, according to a news release from the school. Harper was employed as a geologist at the Cordero mine, McDermitt, Nev., before i . going into the navy. He is a .graduate of Oregon State col lege. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion E. Harper and his wife, the former Irene Hoover, reside at 225 Cottage street here. ... Officer Arrives Second Lt. Alvin L. Wimer, who graduated August 4 from the army air field at Douglas, Ariz., as a pilot, ar rived in Medlord Monday night to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George C. Wimer, 410 North Ivy street. He was accompanied to Medford by his wife, the former Jeanette House, who will visit her mother, Mrs. Floyd House, and her brother, Norman, at the family home, 322 South Central avenue. Mr. House left Medford shortly before his daughter's arrival to report for naval train ing in California. Lt. Wimer will be here until the middle of next week and Aug. 16 will report to Albuquerque, N. M., for transl '' tional training ns iirst pilot of a B-24 Liberator. Lt. Wuner's bro ther, Ensign D. C. Local firemen were summoned at 6:50 p. m. yesterday to extinguish a small fire at the Timber Products Co., caused when a motor burned out, according to a fire depart ment report. Only slight damage was caused, firemen stated. . . Visiting Here Mr. and Mrs. Nick Kime have as house guests at their home, 511 Palm St., Mrs. Clifford Price and her daughter, Mrs. Harry Bay of Sacramento, Calif. Mrs. Price is Mr. Kime's sister. They plan to be here until about Sunday. . ... Dance Tonight Sgt. Eddie Robertson and an orchestra of men from the W.P.R.C. at Camp White will play for the regular Wednesday night dance tonight at the MarKade, North Oakdale avenue. According to Mrs. Ruth Boyd, MarKade director, dancing will be from 8 until 11 p. m. and hostesses are urged to be at the center by eight o'clock. Tomor row night a group of men' from WPRC and a group of young women have been invited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. V. Carpenter for a swimming party and weiner roast. Mr. Parker was born at Butte Falls on March 15. 1882. He had been employed by the Pacific Portland Cement com pany at Gold Hill for the past two years. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks No. 338 at Heppner, Ore. Mr. Parker was united in marriage to Clara E. Porter at Reno, Nev., July 20, 1942. She survives as do three sisters, Mrs. Ada L. Williams, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Katherine Kellogg, Med ford, and Mrs. Edith I. Wells, Pendleton, Ore.; also four broth ers, Frank E. Parker, Heppner, Ore.; Loyal R. Parker, Lexing ton, Ore.; Lester C. Parker, Gold Hill, and Oral C. Parker, San Martin, Calif., and five step children, Willis Porter, Rupert, Ida.: Lyle Porter, Napa, Calif.; Wynetta Sabin, Medford: Thel ma Vanzant. Eugene, and Lucille Anseth, Medford.
