Navy Enlistments William
Loren Oden, Butte Falls, son of

E. Rodgers have enlisted in the
navy. The boys were enlisted
on the 21st of July through the
Medford navy recruiting station,
according to H. W. Crain, re
cruiter in charge. They are
home for a 10 day period before
reporting for recruit training.
Leaves For Farragut Ed
ward L. Kendall of 702 Victory
street has gone to Farragut, Ida.,
for training in the navy's ship
repair unit. He has been given
the rating of motor machinist,
first class. Before going into the
navy Kendall was a mechanic in
the ordnance department at
Camp White, working there for
26 months. Mrs. Kendall and the
coupie's two sons are remaining
in Medford at the family home.

nic for the recreation of men in

WPRC special service officer at

women with Mrs. Ruth Boyd of
the MarKade, by Friday eve
ning. The group will meet at
the MarKade at 1 p. m., from
where transportation will be
furnished to McKee bridge, and
the return trip will be made
about 7 p. m. It is stated that
the picnics are proving very
popular with the men of the

IN SALARY SUII
Following arguments on a de
murrer and motion in the suit
of Earl H. Fehl against Jackson
county for $11,000 Fehl claims
is due as his salary as county
judge, following his conviction
on ballot theft, Circuit Judge H.
K. Hanna overruled both, and
granted Fehl ten days in which
to file further proceedings.
Fehl contends he is entitled
to pay for the period for which
he was elected as county judge.
He served but three months of
the term before he was convict
ed, and a successor named for
the county office.
The county was represented
by District Attorney George W.
Neilson and Fehl by Attorney
Roy R. Hewitt of Salem. The
case has been hanging fire sev
eral months.
