Cox, 34, of Central Point was cited by state police yesterday to appear in Justice of the peace court July 7 at 2 p. m. on a charge of operating a car with out a tail light. Transferred Sgt. Marc Jar mln, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marc B. Jarmin of 23 Corning Court has been transferred to Camp Swift, Texas, according to word received here by his parents. He has been stationed at Camp Hale, Colo. At Ephrata Pfc. Lester L. Neff, 219 North Grape street, recently arrived for duty at the reactivated Fourth Air Force army air base, Ephrata, Wash., according to a dispatch from the base. The medal was mailed to the parents by Red Cross work ers at the base hospital over seas where the sergeant is re covering. Freden burg was promoted to carpen ter's mate third class, the 21st of this .month. He is with the Navy Seabees, stationed on an island in the South Pacific, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Fredenburg of the Jacksonville highway. Cat Leaves Jack Cate, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson F. Cate, left last night for Spokane, Wash., where he will enter training in navy V-5, a naval aviation program. Cate, a prom inent member of the class of 1944, enlisted in the naval re serve the latter part of his sen ior year. The Cate home is on the Jacksonville Star Rt. Completes Basic Aviation Student Merle Everett McGraw has just completed basic flying trc." 'ng at the Merced army air field, California, according to a news release from the field, and will now proceed to an advanc ed school where he will take the final phase of his pilot's train ing. Monday is a Judicial day, County Judge J. B. Coleman explained, and Oregon law forbids holidays other than legal ones. Banks and other public offices will be open Monday. Many stores of the city plan to close the two days. Many local people plan to start for the hills and the sea shore tomorrow afternoon for a three-day holiday.
