On Leave Sam Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Young of Medford, hs home on leave from the navy until July 19. He came from University of Idaho and at the end of his leave he will go to Northwestern University, where he will finish his training and receive his commission. On Leave Douglas Pickell, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Pickell of 823 Taylor St., is home on leave from the navy. Visiting with the Pickells is a former classmate of Doug's, Earnest Winkle from San Francisco, where he is employed by the Ninth Service Command. After a brief stay in Medford Winkle plans to go to Salem to visit his parents, Mr. and -Mrs. E. W. Winkle. The Winkles are former residents of this city. MISS THE BOH Minor Accident Alice Gladys Eaton of Route 4 and Roland Frazier of 1830 North Riverside avenue drove cars involved in a slight mishap on Crater Lake avenue near Reddy avenue Man day afternoon, according to a re port on file today. Mrs. Hibbard Home Mrs. Francis Hibbard, 1302 Saling avenue, returned yesterday from Portland, where she spent the past several weeks as a patient in a Portland hospital. Mrs. Hibbard was formerly an em' ployee of the Timber Products company. Guests Leave Miss Laura Kimball, who has been in Med ford as the guest of Miss Janet Ross at the home of Miss Rosa uncle and aunt, Mr. and -Mrs. Elmer Childers, 230 South Cen tral avenue, returned to her home In Klamath Falls today. Miss Kimball and Miss Ross are both members of the University of Oregon chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. e e Home Ensign Wallace Young arrived home recently for a two weeks' leave. He has received his commission as a naval pilot and will be sent overseas immediately after his leave is up. He came to Med ford from Florida. He is visiting his mother, Mrs. Lena Young of 329 N. Riverside avenue, and his father, Ray Young of 439 N. Front street. Reminder Issued Business people of the district were re minded today that a representa tive of the War Production board will be in Medford Wed nesday and Thursday of this week to confer with anyone having priority questions or problems. ' The representative will be at the chamber of com merce and anyone wishing ap pointments should call 2294. Dance Tomorrow MarKade hostesses were reminded today by the director, Mrs. Ruth Boyd, that the mid-week dance of the center is now Wednesday night of each week instead of Thurs day as in the past. Hostesses are to be at the center about 8 p. m. Saturday night of each week a dance is given for which young business women serve as host esses. Colley Here Robert Colley, naval petty officer, was recently in Medford to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Colley, Hill crest Road, before going east to aerial gunnery school. Colley, stationed at the Klamath Falls naval air station since February, was promoted 'to the petty of ficer rating of ordnanceman third class upon completion of his training at Norman, Ukla Colley's younger brother, Bill Colley, is also in the navy and is on sea duty in the Pacific. Those in charge state that all Townsend members and friends are urged to attend. see Jones Home Cpl. Earl Jones is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Hunter of Sams Val ley. He leaves July 1 to attend officer training school at the Uni versity of Washington, Seattle. Cpl. Jones has been studying radio communications at San Diego for the past ten months. The corporal attended school at Talent, graduating there in 1942 and formerly carried Mail Trib unes in the Talent district. Kendla Here Pfc. Donald Kendle arrived last week from Yuma, Ariz., to spend a two weeks furlough at his home, 516 Dakota avenue. He graduated from flexible gunnery school at the Yuma army air field June 17 and reports at Lemoore. Calif., July 7, for further training. Pfc. Kendle was a member of the Medford high school graduating class of 1943 and entered the army In September of that year. W 9 W . Cited to Court State police, over the week-end, cited three persons to appear at 2 p. m June 30, in Roseburg Justice of the peace court on charges of violating the state angling laws. They were Nlils Arvid Koivu, 30, McMinnville, angling prohib ited methods; Albert C. Erlckson, 56, Mulino, Ore., angling with more than one line and Grace C. Gillespie, Redmond, ai.gttng without a license. All were ar rested at Diamond lake. Student Here Bill Bauman, student at Willamette university, Salem, under the navy's V-12 training program, Is In Medford this wpok to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Bauman, 215 North Ivy street. Bauman is a pre-medics student. His brother, Bob Bauman, is expected to ar rive tomorrow or Thursday from Dallas, Tex., where he has been taking flight training at the naval air station. Following his leave here he reports at Pensa cola, Fla.', for the last phase of his training. Both are graduates of St. Mary's academy here.
