Saulsberry is spending a 10-day leave at his home in Jackson ville. Lt. Saulsberry, who re ceived his bombardier's wings at Victorville, Calif., in April, has been an instructor there since that time. The lieutenant leaves Tuesday evening to re port for duty at Lincoln, Neb. Inducted Arlon Skinner, 1944 graduate of Medford high school, left last week for Port land where he was sworn in to the Army Air Corps Reserve. From Portland Skinner went to Corvallis where he enrolled in the aeronautical engineering di vision of Oregon State college. He will remain in college until he is 18 and subject to call. S. navy, is spending a furlough here visiting his wife and two children, who are residing at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Bergman, 744 West Jackson boulevard. Forette recently completed his seven week "boot camp" training at Farragut, Ids., and is scheduled to report back there on July 2. Two Enlist Most recent en listees in the United States naval reserve are Donald Dean Hackett and Herbert Neil Merri man, according to H. W. Crain, officer in charge of the Medford navy recruiting station. Hackett is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Hackett, Et. 1, Box 31 Vi, and Merriman's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Chester N. Merriman, 515 North Bartlett street. Both are 17 years old and enlisted June 17. Brothers Home E. B. and ; Weldon Webber, sons of Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Webber of 318 Laurel St., will be home together for a short time. R. B., an R.O.T.C. student at Yale university and ! taking geology arrived the first I of this week and will be here i until next Monday. Weldon, who is in Naval Aviation V-5 pro gram at Carroll college, Helena, Montana plans to be home this Sunday or Monday. The' broth ers are both graduates of Med ford high school, R. B. graduat ing in 1942 and Weldon graduat , ing mid-term this year ahead of his class in order to enter the service. OBITUARY LYDIA ANN GRAY Lydia Anna Gray, of Bur bank, Calif., passed away at a local hospital early Thursday. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Gray. EDWARDS TO SQUADRON LEADER First Lt. Kenneth C. Edwards, pilot of a B-1T Flying Fortress and stationed in England, has been promoted from a squadron leader to a group leader, accord ing to word received here by his wife, who, with their nine-months-old son, resides at 818 West 11th street. Lt. Edwards, who has been awarded the Air Medal and three Oak Leaf Clusters, has been on 22 bombing missions, including raids on Brunswick, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Regensburg. A graduate of Grants Pass high school, Lt. Edwards, resid ed here for eight years prior to entering the service and was employed by the Valley Music company. He has been in Eng land eight months. HIGH FACES .HEARING ON CHECK ACCUSATION Robert N. High, charged with obtaining money under false pretenses, fallowing his arrest yesterday ,was released under $2000 bonds by Justice of the Peace W. R. Tucker. The bonds were furnished by a local wom an and the defendant's mother of Ashland. Sheriff Syd I. Brown said the specific charge against High was the alleged passing of a $50 check In this city. He is scheduled to be given a prelim' inary hearing in justice court this afternoon.
