PAGE TEN MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE, MEDFORD, OREGON, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 29, 1943 GAS SUPPLY FOR Mayfield's Report to Ration ; ing Board Shows 12,732 Gallons Used In Harvest ' Stating that the plan worked out by the local ration board last lummer for supplying (arm laborers with gasoline through the Jackson County Emergency Farm Labor committee had been "instrumental In getting the county food crops harvested without loss," Leonard B. May field has rendered a report to the ration board on the gasoline used. Under the plan, worked out to relieve worker of the necessity of dealing directly with the board, supplies of emergency stamps were issued the farm labor committee and these were in turn issued to growers for their crew members. Mr. Mayfleld, in charge of the committee's office last summer, reported a total of 12,732 gal lons of gasoline used by the var ious grower distributors. The stamps were issued at the rate of one gallon for 18 miles of travel to and from orchards or other farm work; and were is sued to the individual workers In four-gallon lots. Benjamin L. Barry, about 75 years of age and who had re sided In Medford for the last 25 years, pasned away in Newport, Ore., Monday. Mr. Barry was In business here ai an Insurance adjuster until ill health overcame him several years ago. His wife, Cora Murry Barry, was with him at the time of his passing and is accompanying the remains to Medford - Thursday morning. Services will be con ducted In the Conger chapel at 1 p. m. Friday with the Rev. D. E. Millard officiating. Interment will be in the family plot In the I.O.O.F. cemetery. GRAVESTdT SERVICES FOR MRS. Mrs. Whiteside was born June 27, 1869 at Canyonvllla, Ore. Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Jo Pope and Mrs. Llda Armstrong of Roseburg, Mrs. Ruby Fox of San Francisco and Mrs. Valene Mulholland of Port land, and one brother, Jack Eaton, of Coqutlle, Ore. Mrs. Allen was born at Logan, Utah, April 23, 1891 Ida May Beverldge was united In marriage to Henry J. Allen, at La Grande. Ore., in 1909. They lived in La Grande and Klamath Falls before coming to Medford four months ago, Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Le- land James Allen, Medford; Mrs. Mildred Pippins and Mrs. Louise McCullough, Klamath Falls, and Beverly Joy Allen, Medford; al so, two sisters, Mrs. Parley Al len, Medford, and Mrs. Walter Wakefield. Portland; three broth ers, David Beveridge, Milwau kee, Ore. Reuben Beverldge, La Grande; L e I a n d Beveridge, Stockton, Calif., and eight grand' children.
