Music Program ' At Ashland USO Ashland,. Dec. 22 Students of Mrs. Eve Prentice and Mrs. Glenn Clymer will present a mu sic program at the Ashland USO club Sunday at 4:30 p. m. Too lata to Classify 13:80 Arrival of the holiday season has increased the number of re quests from servicemen . for rooms for wives and parents coming to visit soldiers at Camp White, according to Adj. Charles Cox, director of the West Main USO where the central housing desk is located. Local citizens were urged today to make extra rooms available to these people wherever possible, and it was pointed out that many of the wives and mothers have trav eled long distances to spend Just a few days near sons or hus bands. Adj. Cox states that a critical situation still exists as to hous ing accommodations for service men and their families in this area. During November, 1182 placements were made through the housing desk, absorbing va cancies existing at that time. Requests are still numerous, and Adi. Cox urged today that all who can make rooms available telephone the desk,. 2028, and list them immediately. Any families desiring to have a serviceman and his wife, or any number of single servicemen in their homes for Christmas dinner are invited to telephone the West Main USO, 3900, and arrangements wUJ be made. THE GRANGE Lance, Clare Wilson, Lilly Au- tenrieth, Roy Cameron, Glenna Chase, Maude Martin, Lyndal Cameron and Ima Wilson taking part and directing. Gold Hill Gold Hill grange met Decem ber 16, with a covered dish din ner, grange meeting, Christmas program and tree with ex change of gifts and treats. -; Third and fourth degrees were exemplified for four can didates from Live Oak and six from Gold Hill. Visitors present represented i Enterprise, Live Oak and Cen tral Point. The grange voted to have the annual New Years dinner at the hall on January 2, at 1 p. m., honoring out-going and incom ing officers. The program Included group singing of Christmas carols, fol lowed by the Christmas story in tableau presented by Dorothy Eskew and four children. The Christensen sisters trio present ed three accordion selections, and Minnie Fiene gave a read ing, "The Day After Christ mas. Another tableau followed, with Dennis McGuire, Florence Younger?
