IS EXPLAINED FOR LODGES, SOCIETIES In answer to inquiries, the dis trict OPA today explained how organized groups, such as parent-teacher associations, may ob tain food for serving occasional meals under present rationing regulations. Lodges, church clubs, P.-T.A.'s and other similar organizations since foods are rationed because they are scarce, were urged not to make extra demands on limited supplies for such occa sions unless conditions make it , . really necessary. A simple alternative Is to have- persons who are to share a group meal contribute tha ' food. This practice is in Keep ing with rationing regulations, OPA said, since rationed foods may be contributed to a meal which the donor shares. To a large extent, If the group wishes to help the wartime food pro gram it will plan to use the more plentiful unrationed foods. It is possible, too, for persons who share a meal to contribute their ration points in order to provide the food. This may be ' done either by contributing loose, one-point meat stamps (the only stamps which may be detached) or by lending ration books to the person who is to do the buying for the group. (Ration books may be loaned if the owner of the book is to share in the meal served.) In situations where it is not feasible to provide food for a group meal through contriDU Uons either of food or of points, groups may apply to local war price and rationing boards for points to buy the necessary rationed foods.
