Popular Stars Top Cast Rialto's Hit Heading the Rialto's double feature program starting today is "Get Going." Fast, laugh filled fun picture, starring Rob ert Paige and Grace McDonald with Vera Vague of film and radio fame lending a good share of the laughs. Strictly comedy throughout, "Get Going" deals with the ro mantic mix-ups of overcrowd ed present-day Washington and comically presents a fictitious vepy chase as the basis for its lfetory. Sharing the other half of the double bill is "A Gentle Gang ster" .' starring "Barton McLane and Rosella Towne in an excit ing, thrilling story of reformed gamblers and racketeers whosa children become associated with the crime world. 'Cy Kendall and Jack La Rue have promi nent supporting roles as leaders of the underworld, while Mc Lane playing the part of a reformed gangster does a good job of policing and breaks up the ring that was tempting his children. ' Rosella Towne furnishes the feminine interest who helps Mc Clane's roundup of the bad men. Rob ert D. Olson, former Medford high and Oregon State college football star who was killed in North Africa last January, have been received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry V. Olson of 717 West 14th street. Mailed by the war department to Lt. Olson's wife, who resides in Portland, she sent them on to his parents to keep and the awards are expected to be re ceived shortly. The order of the Distinguished Flying Cross, by command ot Maj. Gen. Jimmy Doolittle, reads as follows: v"In North Africa on Decem ber 4, 1942, during a high alti tude bombing mission,- Lt.- Ol son, co-pilot on a B-17, encoun tered intense and accurate flak while flying over and while leaving the target. Enemy air craft was also encountered. Dur ing the course of action, several of the guns on the bomber be came inoperative and three of the motors were disabled. "Despite all these difficulties. Lt. Olson aided in the accom plishment of the mission, and by his flying skill and Judgment was able to assist in the return and landing of the airplane at a n friendly airport. Although the plane was landed in a very small field, the injured members of the crew suffered no ill ef fects from the landing. Lt. Olson found himself In a very precarious position but he met the situation with the great est amount of courage and ex erted all the skill and ability that he had at his command. His actions were with the coolness of a veteran, and this resource fulness, skill and ability dis played by Lt. Olson undoubtedly helped save the lives of his crew as well as saving his plane from complete destruction. This extraordinary achieve ment while narticipating in aerial flight reflects great credit upon himself and the military service of the United States." By command of Lieut. Gen. arl Spaatz, the order for the award of the Air Medal, post humously, read as follows: "The Air Medal is posthumous ly awarded to the following named personnel in the name of the commanding general, North African theater of operations, for participating in five sorties against the enemy: Robert D. Olson, second lieutenant, air corps, United States army." Lt. Olson, who was graduated from Oregon State college in 1942 and captained the football team Mn his senior year, is buried in an American cemetery outside Oran, his mother said. He was a Phoenix high school graduate and played one year of football with Medford high. BONNEVILLE ON HIGH Portland, Ore., Oct. 2 (U.R) Bonneville's nine generators were at top production today following the closing of the 18 spillways and diversion of the entire Columbia river flow through the dam's power house. J. Giovan netti of San Francisco were in Medford this past week to make preliminary arrangements for the opening of the Medford Pouutry and Egg warehouse, which Mr. Giovannetti owns He stated that the warehouse would open about October 20 to receive turkeys and other poultry and that a nephew, B. E. Giovannetti, would be in charge of the plant. Mr. Giovannetti said that an effort was being made to secure machinery for picking the fowls and. that if priorities could bo secured the machinery would be Installed the latter part of this month. While here Mr. and Mrs. Giovannetti were regis tered at the Medford hotel and also were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Naumes, 1001 South Oakdale Ave. Extensive changes are belnn made in the Sunday schorl building of the Presbyterian church according to the pastor, the Rev. Harry W. Hansen. The rooms are being re-arranged and redecorated and complete class room units are being installed in several departments. Of special interest to the con gregation is the fact that a nur sery room is being, prepared. The minister states that it is being decorated in the most modern manner and that mod ern nursery equipment will be installed. He states that a nur sery is to be conducted from 9:45 until 11 a. m. each Sunday morning for children between the ages of two and four years and that during church services the nursery will car for chil dren of all ages. Mrs. Frederick Snook, gradu ate nurse, will be in charge of the nursery and all parents of the congregation are invited to leave their children in Mrs. Snook's care. While the room is not quite complete, Mrs. Snook will be in attendance this morning. There is no record of horses in Egypt or Arabia prior to 1580 B. C.
