Nis en is being moved tomorrow from 15 Geneva itreet to Port land, according to a report on file at Eads Transfer Co. Local Motm W. P. Brooks was moved last week from 118 Tripp street to 335 S. Riverside avenue, and Mrs. Milo Lamb moved from Four Corners to Central Point, according to Eads Tranfer Co. In Portland Joyce Cox, who has been visiting relatives in Medford, returned to Portland last week, accompanied by Mary Lou Swope and Miss Limb. All three girls will return shortly to attend high school here. Discontinue Form Gasoline renewal form R-543 of the OPA has been discontinued and serv ice station operators in the county having these forms on hand should not give them out to customers, it was stated today at the local OPA office. Unit To Meet Griffin Creek Extension Unit will meet Friday of this week at the home of Mrs, Marge Mero at 10 a. m. Subject for the meeting will be "Get the Good Out of Your Vege tables" and in charge of the demonstration will be Mrs. Mabel Mack, state extension specialist in nutrition and for merly home demonstration agent for Jackson county. At Farragut Charles William Campbell, son of Mr. and Mrs, W. A. Campbell of Jacksonville, has reported for duty and train- - lng at th? naval training station at Farragut, Idaho, During the next several weeks he will learn the fundamentals of seamanship and undergo physical training. Upon completion of the training, ha will be assigned to a navy service school for specialized training or will report to the fleet for action. Evans Have Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Evans of 32 Ross court had as their guest last week Mr. Evans' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Lee of Eugene, and his three sisters, ' Mrs. Frank Pease, Mrs. Vera Hermanson, and Mrs. Ethel Branvoitch, all of Bremerton, Wn. The family lived in Med ford and Ashland several years , ago, and the children attended the local schools. They evidently were referring to reports that Marshall was to be assigned to a new command and that Lieut Gen. Grehon V. Somervell would succeed him as chief-of-staif. Chairman Andrew J. May. D.. Ky., of the house military af fairs committee. Rep. Walter G. Andrews, N. Y., senior Re publican member, and Ren. R. Ewing Thomason, Tex., senior Democratic member, each said in brief addresses that they had discussed the recent reports witn Marshall today. No Interference House Majority Leader John W. McCormack, p., Mass., said that Secretary of War Henry Li. stimson had told him today that President Roosevelt br.d not interfered with the war department in the choice and assignment of general officers. Andrews said he thought the time had come to name a su preme Allied command and that Marshall was "pre-eminently fit ted" for the lob. It has been variously report ed that Marshall was to be assigned to London to command the European theater, that he was going to London to become global commander of all Anglo American armed forces, and that he was being "kicked upstairs" to make room for a new chief-of-staff, possibly Somervell. Meanwhile, reports of sudden British interest In a speedup of plans for a cross-channel inva sion of western Europe appeared to have come too late to promise any such knockout maneuver against Germany before 1944.
