Patterson, and niece, Marie Jones of Medford, and a nephew, Ted Jones of Port land. Mrs. Patterson also visited her son, Harold, and family at Hornbrook. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bowdoin visited Mr. Bowdoln's sister and husband In Portland last week, returning New Year's day. Mrs. Mae Shuts spent Christ mas with her daughter, Mrs. R. C. Cummlngs, and family, In Jacksonville. She stayed several days with her grandson, Cloyd Porter, while the Cummlngs vis ited In Corvallis. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Woods and son, Don, of Portland were week end guests of Mrs. Wood's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sandry. Miss Deloras Skevington ar rived Dec. 25 from Long Beach Cal., and will spend an indefi nite time with her grandmother, Mrs. Elton Lang worthy. Deloras started to school here Monday. Willis Stlehl, who spent month here from Honolulu vis iting his parents, Mr. and Mrs Clarence Stlehl, and other rela tives, has returned to hi work In Honolulu. Mrs. Vey Campbell, who Is em ployed In Vancouver, was borne over the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. James Oden of Butte Falls are spending two weeks visiting Mrs. Oden's moth er, Mrs. Tom Wilson, and hus band. Rev. Bowdoln is 111 with flu. Mrs. Bowdoin, assisted by her sister, Mabel Tyrrell, and Eileen Dick, conducted the services Sunday morning at the Presby terian church. Next aid meeting will be held Friday at the home of Mrs. Maude Helfrlch at 2 p m Mr. Mcllvaln has been busy lately putting on a new roof and a bathroom, also repairing the front porch ot the Frank Clements house on Oak street. A good attendance was out and a very lively meeting was enjoyed. For the lecturer's hour group singing was enjoyed. ' aiT -r A memento of Pearl Harb f wag received this week by Fred Elnkopf, of 607 Catherine street, In the form of a collection of shells fired from Pearl Harbor guns en the fateful Dec. 7 when the Japs attacked the Pacific base. The shells were sent to Mr. Elnkopf from a friend. Glen Prultt, former Medford man now In the navy and a son of Charles Pruitt of this city. The collection contains some fired from a SO calibre machine gun, several 37 mm. shells and a "1 Pdr." shell fired from a small cannon. Mr. Elnkopf also received a copy of a special edition ot the Honolulu Advertiser published on Dec. 7, 1942, to promote the sale of war bonds in Honolulu. SOCIAL HYGIENE CONFAB CALLED Portland (Spl) Oregon's second statewide social hygiene conference has been called for Portland on February B, Dr, Adolph Weinzlrl, director ot the division of social hygiene educa tlon of the University ot Cregon medical school, stated today.
