Home From School Miss Carol Tengwald, student at Uni versity of Oregon, is spending Christmas holidays in this city with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Y. Tengwald, King's highway. Wilson Wait, Instrumental music in structor at Medford senior high school, is in Community hospital for treatment of an illness, not serious, and his condition was reported today as being the same as for the past three weeks, Called Home Mrs. E. L. At Farragui Harold Richard (Hal) Adams, Medford high foot ball star who enlisted in the navy recently, has arrived for training at the Farragut, Uoa.) Bergman of 811 East Jackson boulevard, driving a pickup, and W. L. Harrison of this city, operating a sedan, were involved in a minor collision at the intersec tion of North Riverside avenue and Jackson boulevard Satur day at 11 p. m., according to report on file. Drunks Fined Josephine No vak was fined $16 in city police court today on a charge of being drunk. Jack Bartlett and Wayne S.-Birdsell each forfeited 10 ball on a similar charge; Dennis Dullworth was sentenced to five days In the city Jail and Vernon F. Calhoun to 15 days in the city jail on charges of being drunk. Convalescing Mrs. Ray Garcia of 821 North Central avenue, who underwent a major operation in Community hos pital last Tuesday, is convales cing satisfactorily and is now able to receive visitors, it was reported today. Cormany Visits Walter Cor many, former resident, now su perintendent of the electrical de partment of the Hickinbotham Bros, shipyard in Stockton, Calif, was in Medford over the week-end en route to Portland to spend the holidays with Mrs. Cormany and their daughters. Frances Cormany and Mrs. Con stance Evans. Mr. Cormany re cently underwent an operation in Stockton for a ruptured ap pendix. Million Dollar Kid Of I SCO's 1$ Suicide Lake Worth, Fla, Dec. 21 (U.R) Police today listed Byron D. Chandler, 62, the "million dollar kid" of New York play boys In the early 1900 s, as a suicide. His body was found awash yesterday on the shore of Lake Worth. A bullet wound was In his chest. Police said he apparently had shot himself on the dock of his estate and fallen into the water, He left suicide notes for his attorney, J. W. .Salisbury, and his divorced wife, Betty West, the last of four, a former Paris model. Eldest Roosevelt . Son Is Decorated Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Cal, Dec. 21 (U.R) Lieut. Col. James Roosevelt, U. S. M. C, eldest son of President Roose velt, today held the Dominican Order of Military Merit, first class, highest military award of the Dominican Republic. The award was presented to Col. Roosevelt for his work In coordinating military efforts of the Dominican Republic and the United Nations. SURPRISE! To date re sponse has been limited and passes from Camp White for soldiers to attend local functions must be secured one to two days ahead so citizens who are de pending upon lrst minute invita tions may be disappointed. Boys May Register In Home Community For Draft Service All youths born between Sep tember 1 and October 31, 1924, are required to register for mili tary service before next Thurs day evening. In order to conserve gasoline and rubber, provisions have been made for those residing at Prospect, Trail, Butte Falls, Eagle Point, Gold Hill, Rogue River, Phoenix, Talent and the Applegate to register Tuesday in their home communities, and thus save a trip to Medford.
