Elmer Harrison" of Wichita, Kas., were quietly married at the First Christian church Tuesday by the Rev. R. W., Coleman. They were attend ed by Mr. and Mrs. James C. White of Phoenix. For her wedding the bride selected a blue ensemble with a gardenia corsage. They will make their home in this city where Pvt. Harrison Is station ed at Camp White. Annual Christinas Party to Be Today The annual Christmas party for the Prentice Accordian troupers will be held this aft ernoon at 1 o'clock In the recre ation hall of the First Christian church. At that time S3 young accordianists will present a pro gram of Christmas carols and sol diers are invited. All partlcl pants are under 12 years of age. - Later the group will carol at the Outpost, the hospitals and other places In the city. Mrs. Eve Prentice is hostess for the an nual event. Club Entertains At Outpost Business 'and Professional Women's club sponsored a bingo and Chinese checker tournament at the Outpost Thursday eve ning and 20 soldiers from the 91st division at Camp White were invited. The upstairs li brary was the scene of the eve ning's entertainment which was in charge of Rose Houston, In ternational relation's chairman and Eva Judd, transportation chairman. Later hot spiced punch and fruit cake was served. The following soldiers were winners: Howard Riggs, Donald Chambers, Lloyd Bannister, Eu gene Pickle, Glen Lee, Joseph Brown, George Dibble and Peter Kvsoln. Next Professional ' Women's meeting will be January 2 with a 12 noon luncheon at me notei Holland. 1 Christmas Party Held By Lodge Adarel chapter, No. 3, O.E.S., at Jacksonville enjoyed Christmas party and potluck dinner Thursday evening. Initiation followed the regu lar business session and a gift was presented the retiring worthy matron and worthy pa tron, Mattie Luman and Claire Shores. A clever ceremony was given by Dorothy Waldron. Edith Antle Ruth Wynn ana Jane Kessler with Libby Root at the oiano. Each of the 1042 officers received a gut irom me worthy matron. Installation Is scheduled to follow we iirst meeting in January. College Club At Hardy Home Mrs. A. V. Hardy entertained the Rogue River Valley College Woman's club last Saturday. A Drogram of music was enjoyed and Mrs. E. M. Drysdale pre sented an excellent book review, "The Robe," by Lloyd Douglas. Christmas decorations were ar ranged through the rooms and the social committee, in charge of Mrs. Campbell, served re freshments. Attending from Ash land were Miss Edna Goheen, Mrs. Alice A. A bus will leave the same place at 7:30 p. m. also. Missouri Couple Wed At Church Two Barnard, Missouri, resi dents. Gene Anderson Wright and Mary Alice Kaiser, were married at the First Christian church Monday evening by the Rev. R. W. Coleman. The bride wore a rose-colored suit and was attended by Mrs. Ralph Munn. Ralph Munn was best man. They will make their home here where the bridegroom is a service man at Camp White. He closed with "Hu moresque" and was accompanied by Meryl Daws. . -4 Juvenile Club Holds Party Degree of Honor Juvenile club members rehearsed Christ mas carols for their Christmas party which was held last week when they met at the Townsend hall last Saturday with Carrie Chase assisting in the practice. Patsy Hutchinson was elected president during the business meeting and Joan Marylyn Vaughn Introduced as new member with Leah Peabody as a visitor. Margaret and Dolores Bismark received their service caps and refreshments were served at a table decorated in the Christmas theme. Donald Crowell brought the cake and the Bismark sisters assisted with the refreshments. The lodge will meet again January 16. Hie serve Continuing the tradition of several years Saint Mark's Epis copal church will present to night at 7:30 o'clock the Pag eant of the Holy Nativity. Sixty characters are required. Includ ing boys and girls and adults. all appropriately costumed. Special lighting is used as well as physical properties which transform the church into a re plica of the birthplace of the Lord Jesus. The musical contin uity is provided by an angel choir of twenty girls voices. Divided into five scenes the pageant chronicles the complete nativity story beginning with the crowding of the Inn by the Roman soldiers, the assignment of Mary and Joseph to the stable, a musical interpretation of the Holy birth, the coming of the shepherds and three kings with their attendants, leading to climax of the whole assemblage in humble worship before the creche. Parents, friends and strangers are given a cordial welcome to this service which will be held in the enlarged church for the first time. There should be room for all. Immediately following the pageant everyone in attendance will be invited to the Parish House for the Christmas party at which a program will be given Dy tne kindergarten depart ment and the visit of Santa claus with treats anticipated service men and families are given a particular welcome. Williams, fruit grower of the Phoenlrf neighbor hood, now knows how the lug. gage got on his back porch. As reported in a Mail Tribune story Friday, Mr. Williams was much mystified by the discovery Wed. nesda of a black satchel on his porch. The bag. It developed, was left at the Williams home by friends of Mr. and Mrs. Williams son David, who attend University of Oregon with him and left Eu gene at the same time to return to their homes here for the holi days. A mixup in baggage checks caused one boy to think he had a piece of luggage which belonged to David Williams.
