Christmas Theme Of Guild Meeting Christmas was the theme of the. meeting of Crater Lake Guild at the First Presbyterian church Monday evening. The room was decorated in the holi day .motif with berries and greenery. Mrs. Byron Murdock entered her resignation as presi dent of the group and Mrs. Iva Murray was selected as presi dent for the remainder of the year's activities. A musical program was pre sented by John Brewer and June Jarmln, who sang several numbers accompanied by Miss Emma Jane Brewer. Miss Clara Difhiels gave two readings and community singing of Christmas carols closed the evening. Discussion on the Guild eve ning at the Outpost, to be Jan uary 1, was held with Mrs. Murray appointed in charge of entertainment and Mrs. John Madigan, refreshments. Mrs. Verl . Walker was appointed chairman of a group to con sider decoration of church room. Refreshments in keeping with the holiday season were served by the . hostess com mittee. Bonnie Morris Weds Mr. Furry Phoenix, Dec. 12 (Spl.) The Presbyterian manse at Ashland was the scene of the wedding of Miss Bonnie Morris, daugh ter of G. W. Morris of Ashland, and Norven Furry, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Milo Furry of Phoenix, Saturday, Nov. 14. The Rev. Howard G. Eddy read the marriage service in the presence of parents of the couple. The bride wore a costume of teal blue with sequin trim with black accessories and a white carnation corsage. A reception for the couple followed at the home of the bride's parents, 71 Laurel street. Ashland. They will make their home in the Putman apartments in Ashland. The bride is a graduate of Ashland high school and the bridegroom of Phoenix high school. Members Bring Gifts Members of Women's Chris tian Temperance Union brought gifts for the Children's Farm Home at Corvallis Thursday aft ernoon when they met at the home of Mrs. L. N. Younger. Mrs. Nettie Grover told of the many generous gifts from busi ness places in the city and ex pressed a vote of thanks to those who contributed money and gifts to the home at Corvallis. Dr. Susie V. Standard presid ed during the business session and Christmas hymns were led by Mrs. Pence. Mrs. Younger was in charge of devotions on the topic, "Bring happiness to people by doing something for someone." Plans were made for furnishing a day room at Camp White and a committee appoint ed for this project. Medford Couple Wed Monday The wedding of Lydia Rober ta Lewis and Sergeant Leslie Verne Jett, both of Medford, was solemnized Monday eve ning at 8:30 o'clock at the First Christian church parson age with the Rev. R. W. Cole man reading the ceremony. Attendants of the couple were Doris Eva Ferrel and Eugene R. Kincaid. For her wedding the bride wore a powder blue dress with a corsage of gardenias. They will make their home here, where the bridegroom Is sta tioned with the medical tachment at Camp White. de- Former Medford Boy Marries Word has been received here of the marriage of Wallace Lud wig in Hawaii, Nov. 18. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl a. Ludwig of this city. Just re cently returned from four months' duty in the Solomon tsl ands. Ludwig received a pro motion to chief machinist's mate with the U. While a resident of this city Mrs. Saunders took an active part in music affairs and was secretary of the Medford Mu sical societv and narticinated in rthe First Methodist church-choir. Annual Dinner Is Well-Attended The annual turkey dinner of the Past Noble Grand club was enjoyed Thursday evening at the I. O. O. F. hall at which time husbands of members and Invit ed guests were present. A past president s pin was presented to viola Aldredge during the eve ning and a fish pond arranged for the exchange of Christmas gifts, being in charge of Ella Gould and Ethel Pease. Guests during the evening were Lieut. Bryant. CaDtain Greer and Captain Stafford of Camp White; Mrs. Mary Moss, past president of the Rebekah assembly, and Mrs. Bessie Crea mer of Boston, Mass. ' 4 Several Visitors At Durkee Home Miss DeLoris Durkee has re turned to Chicago, 111., after a 10-day visit here with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Dur kee. Another ivsitor at the Dur kee. He will be married Tues day at the Sacred Heart church to Miss Betty Lee Walters of Ashland. Mr. Boyle Is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Durkee and a former Medford resident. St. Ann's Society to Hold Christmas Fair Members of St. Ann's Altar society have completed plans for the Christmas fair to be held Monday and Tuesday beginning at 2:30 p. m. at the Catholic parish hall. Fancywork, aprons, cakes, candy, games and other attractions are among the items to be included In the fair. From 5 until 8 p. m. cafeteria luncheon will be served.
