To late to Classify 13 40 The Salvation Army Christ mas kettles will be on the street corners again tomorrow and with the tinkling ot the bells will remind of their purpose. Adjutant Chas. K. Cox, in charge of the local work, said today he hoped there will be no blackout of the Christmas giv ing spirit and he asked for gen erous contributions from the public to help the local corps of the Salvation Army bring hap piness to many underprivil edged boys and girls, with toys ana candy, etc., to old people and shut-ins with a present to let them know they are not for gotten, and to remember the soldier boys ill in the hospital at CamD White. Kettle contribu tions will help make all this possible. There will be a number of families helped with a Christ mas basket or some extras for the Christmas dinner which! otherwise they would not have. the adjutant said. A number of I old people who are pensioned i will need a Christmas oasKei and some presents this Christmas time. The Army Christmas kettles were on the streets last Saturday j and the response was fine. Start- ing tomorrow the kettles will be on the streets each week day un-; til Christmas day. "At such a time as this we need the Christmas spirit more than ever and it will remind us of the Christ that brought it to the world," said Adjutant Cox TRAINING CENTER SLATED AT BOISE Camp WhUe (Spl.V- Estab lishment of a new Army Train ing Center to provide basic and certain special training for of ficers and enlisted men destined for Service Command units, was announced today by Headquar ters, Camp White. The center will be located at Boise Barracks, Idaho. Three companies of officers and enlist ed men will staff It. Personnel necessary to provide a minimum staff of Instructors, company headquarters, and training per sonnel for the first course, will be drawn from posts and camps in the Ninth Service Command. Whenever practicable, such of ficer! and enlisted men will be returned to their original units, or replaced, upon completion of the Initial classes. All posts, camps and stations will benefit from the training center, since it will relieve such establishments of the need for continuous basic training pro grams such as are required at present, when men are received direct from reception centers. It will -reduce and, in time, elimin ate requisitions to provide per sonnel for other installations; it will provide for greater stabili sation of personnel within posts; and It will provide an available supply of basically trained men ready to start work at once as replacements throughout the Service Command. daya In the county Jail for petit theft.
