the cagers through their first

Mill Wednesday night, at which

lead today behind the stellar
passing and running of Eiken-
berg and Williams to defeat
Southern Methodist university,
13 to 7, in the final football
game of the season for both
teams.
The victory gave Rice undis
puted claim on second place be

It was a grand finale for Rice,
whose strong defense had not
allowed a conference score in

them a maximum driving dis
tance of 8,600 miles a year.
Salesmen who qualify under
the revised plan will have their
400-odd mile monthly occupa
tional driving ration increased
up to a maximum of 716 miles
a month.
Details of the plan's operation
are not yet completed, but OPA
said that, roughly, salesmen
eligible for the increased allow
ance must be engaged fulltlme
in the sale of necessary produc
tive equipment for farms, factor
ies, mines, oil wells, lumber
camps or similar establishments,
or of essential food, shelter, fuel,
clothing or medical supplies.
Local boards will begin re
ceiving applications from sales
men after Jan. 1, OPA said.
