OREGON, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 1942 104TH DIVISION : TO BE ACTIVATED AT Brief Exercises Tuesday to Mark Inclusion of New World War I Unit in Forces " Camp Adair, Ore., Sept. 10 (Spl.) The 104th Division a new. World War No. II division formed solely to fight, will be activated at Camp Adair on Tuesday, Sept. IS, with exer cises so short that the ceremony will scarcely cause any break In tne division's preparations for action in this war. Simple, although Impressive, will be this first formal event Jn the history of what probably will be known as the Frontier Division. It will consist of men from all parts of the United States. They will be trained to fight with the fierceness of the timber wolf, that . formidable beast being a divisional pet, as Is indicated by the shoulder patch. The activation program begins with band music and the invoca tion by Major F. J. Worthington, divisional chaplain. War Depart ment orders of activation will be read by U. Col. A. M. Button, adjutant general, and then Brig adier General H. F. Kramer, assistant commanding officer. will present to General Cook a history of the division and its component units. Next Ceneral Cook will speak and present the colors. Chaplain (Capt.) L. T. Jenks will pronounce the bene diction and the National Anthem will be played. The activation ceremony takes place at 10 o'clock In the morn ing and at night there will be reception and dance at the 104th recreation center. Officers of the 104th division are headed by Major General Cook, Brigadier General Kra mer, Col. H. C. Mandell, Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Wil liam C. Dunckel, commanding officer of the division's artillery. Col. Robert O. Montgomery, ar tillery executive officer. Col onels W. P. Waltz, A. J. Touart and J. V4 teaspoon cinnamon. l4 teaspoon nutmeg. V4 teaspoon vanilla. 4 cup Honey Maid Graham cracker crumbs. 2'i cups milk. Pastry for one pie shell. Add molasses to beaten eggs, then add sugar which has been mixed with salt, spices and van illa. Stir in cracker crumbs, add milk, blending well. Pour into nine-Inch unbnked pie shell and bake in a moderately hot oven HOOT.) about 30 minutes or until filling is firm. Cover with meringue, dusted with Honey Maid Graham cracker crumbs. Red Raspberrr PI. Crusti 14 Honey Mold Graham crackers, rolled fine. M cup softened butter. 2 tablespoons sugar. Mix thoroughly cracker crumbs, butter and sugar. Press mixture firmly in an even layer against sides and bottom of a well-buttered nine-inch pie plate. Bake In hot oven (400F.) 10 minutes. Cool. Filling. 1 package raspberry gelatin. 2 cups hot water. 2 egg whites. 1 cup fresh raspberries, slight ly crushed. Whole raspberries for garnish ing. Dissolve gelatin In hot water. Chill until slightly thickened. Place bowl of gelatin over chopped Ice and beat with rot ary egg beater until fluffy. Fold In stiffly beaten egg whites and raspberries. The August quota was $815,000,000, so to maintain the billion-dollar annual monthly average, the quotas for the Fall and Winter months must necessarily be stepped up considerably to reach the objective set.
