Influx of Population Brings

the Travelers' Aid be sent to
this city to assist in caring for
many problems which will arise
from the infljx of population
resulting from the establish
ment of Camp White. Other
USO business was also handled
at the regular USO council ses
sion at the center on West
Main street yesterday afternoon.

Gas Mask Instruction
Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 8 p.
m. in the Senior high school,

All civilian defense people
who have not received their gas
mask Instruction, please attend
this meeting.
Defense Classes
Beginning Tuesday, Aug. IB
t 8 p. m. at .the Senior high
school running through August
19 at the same time, classes in
the general course of civilian de
fense will be given. Final lesson
will be August 24. All desiring
this general course, which is re
quired before arm bands can be
assigned and those that have
missed one session are urged to
attend.
A standard Red Cross first aid
course will be held In the city
council chambers of the city
hall starting Friday, August 14.
The classes will be held from
1:30 to 3:30 each afternoon ex
cept Saturday and Sunday until
the twenty hours of instruction
is completed. Mrs- Archie Pierce
will be instructor.
A standard Red Cross first aid
course will begin next Monday,
August 17 at 7:30 at the Med
ford senior high school. The
class will be held twice a week.
