Mac- Crady paid a $5 fine in the city police court yesterday for park ing in an alley. A. L. Peterman forfeited $5 bail for having no muffler on his vehicle. Weekend Visitors Mrs. Fran cis W. McReynolds and Miss Mildred Wheeling of Klamath Falls were weekend visitors at the O. H. Tice home on South Peach street. Mrs. McReynolds is the daughter of Mrs. Tice, e e Baby Born Mrs. Jessie Min- ear of route I has received word of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Thompson of Washington, D. C. The baby was born July 13, weighed seven pounds seven ounces and has been named Charles Wayne. Mrs. Thompson is the former Glenna Minear, daughter of Mrs. Min ear. Not Guilty Austin Leroy Vro man, 122 Tripp street was found not guilty on a charge of failure to give right of way, yesterday in the city police court. Vroman was driver of an automobile which collided Friday evening at the intersection of King and Da kota streets with the automo bile driven by Kenneth Cooke, 238 South Central avenue. Bradley Visitor William M. Shephard, former vice president and rate engineer of the California-Oregon Power company, now employed by an electrical company in Buenos Aires, Ar gentina, left here by plane last night for San Francisco, after spending two days at the Thomas G. 'Bradley home, 1108 South Oakdale avenue. Shephard, a former Medford resident and well known here, has been In Argentina for the past 12 years. Forfeit Ball Max Brookman and Victor Harold McDonald forfeited 110 bail in city police court today on charges of being drunk. Jess Ernest Keaton paid $10 fine on a similar charge. New Address Mrs. R. W. Childreth of 721 South Peach street received word today that her brother, Alvin A. Gould, has been transferred to San Antonio, Tex. His new address is Alvin Gould, Group D, Hill Wing, Squadron 127, San Antonio Clas sification Center, San Antonio Tex. He is with the U. S. army air corps. Cablegram Lieut. Robert C. Minear, stationed in, Australia with the U. S. army, cablegram med his mother, Mrs. Jessie Min ear birthday greetings Sunday. He also stated he was well and was glad to get letters and pack ages from home. Minor Collision C. M. Van Houten of Gold Hill and J. E. Grover of Central Point, both operating trucks, were involved in a minor collision on the Tay lor road near the Old Stage road Intersection recently, according to a report on file. Reckless Driving John D. Moad of this city was fined $25 and his driver's license revoked for 90 days in the city police court yesterday on a charge of reckless driving. Moad was ar rested Sunday on East Main street, the police record shows. Packer Here Ray Hoffman of Salem, representative of the California Packing corporation, packers of Del Monte brand, was here yesterday contacting packing houses and looking over the Bartlett pear situation in connection with contemplated purchases. Visit Shasta Dam Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hyde, and Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Williams of this city enjoyed a motor trip into north ern California Sunday. They visited at Redding and also Shasta Dam. Also visiting Shasta Dam were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith and Patsy. To California Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Berry of 518 South Oak- dale avenue left Monday for San Francisco and Santa Barbara, Cal., where they will visit with friends before continuing to Los Angeles to make their home. Mr. Berry was employed at the can tonment, with the government! engineers. ' APPLEGATE FUSS I; Ashley Powers. Richard Pow ers and Cedric Kent, charged with disorderly conduct in a complaint signed by Herman Klien and Amelia Klien, were each given six months suspended sentences by Justice of the Peace W. R. Coleman, following a hearing yesterday. All are residents of the lower Apple-gate. The complainants and defen dants, according to the testi mony, engaged in a lively neigh borhood ruckus over a pasture and some hay, with the follow ing sidelights: Kent was bit by the Klien dog and the dog has not been home since. Kent took four shots at it with a .22 rifle. It is believed to have been wounded or killed. The dog bit Kent, a hired man, under orders from its master, it was asserted. Mrs. Klien claimed she was knocked down by one of the Powers; the defendants claimed she fell over a shovel. The cattle, belonging to the Kliens were turned into the road from the pasture. The defendants were also dl rected to stay away from the property in the controversy, un. til a case in the circuit court, involving it had been disposed of.
