PAGE SEVEN Barbara Stanwyck In "The Great Man's Lady", New Picture At Craterian THREE STARS IN Abbott and Costello Coming "This Time For Keeps" "My Gal" Mystery EARLY CURE FOR n Any movie fan will admit that three stars In a picture are better than one, and when the three stars concerned are such vital film folk as Barbara Stan wyck, Joel McCrea and Brian Donlevy, their picture is bound to be heralded as one of Holly wood's major treats. "The Great M a n's Lady," which comes today to the Cra ft iterlan theatre for a three-day run, finds the three luminaries who appeared together so suc cessfully in Cecil B. DeMille's "Union Pacific." This time, as then, their roles are ; played against the exciting background ff America in the making. Miss Stanwyck is said to be superb as the woman loved by two red blooded men McCrea, the hard headed man of action, and Don levy, the soft-hearted gambler, the two men, too, topping every thing they've ever done. The picture is primarily a ro mance although the story is set in the days when the country was young, the days of the great silver rush, the days when men pioneered with their women be side them. It is the romance of a girl of 18 who elopes with a man of 22 and goes west with Q him to build a city on prairie wastes. There she meets Don levy whose love for her affects all their lives. From all accounts "The Great Man's Lady" is full of exciting incident and romantic fireworks and should prove to be a truly great motion picture. HIT BY CEILING Washington, June 20 (IP) The Agriculture Department advised Price Administrator Leon Henderson today that price ceilings on many canned fruits and berries were too low to permit canners to pay grow ers prices to which they are en titled under the price control law. The ceilings were set at the highest prices canners, distribu tors and retailers charged In March. ED.G. IN COMEDY ROLE The most delightful type of comedy is one which blends drama with humor ,and that is Just what "Larceny, Inc". does. It tells the story of a gangster who finds himself kept so busy in an honest enterprise that he hasn't the time to rob a bank. The star of the film, which makes its local debut today at the Holly Theater, is Edward G. Robinson, whom no one can sur pass in gangster roles whether they be of the "Brother Orchid" or "Little Caesar" type. When the picture opens, Rob inson and Crawford are about to be released from prison. An thony Quinn. in the role of a fellow-prisoner .tells them of a I plan to rob a bank. Robinson turns it down on the grounds that he has something more profitable In mind. But when . his "more profitable" plan falls through, he sets about to do the ! bank Job. He rents a little leather-goods store, next to the bank, from which he Intends to dig a tunnel. I In the meantime Miss Wyman meets Carson when he tries to place a large order with her father and they fall in love. I This proves to be the turning point In Robinson's nefarious career, because Wyman and Car son put on a series of sales pro motion stunts that brings in a great volume of business. All this keeps Robinson so busy that he hasn't the time to dig the tunnel to the bank. "The Man Who Returns to Life", starring John Howard, plays as the companion feature.
