Washington, June 18 (Pi
Farmers in most areas of the
far western states can look for
ward to abundant water sup
plies for irrigation this year,
the department of agriculture
said today.
The prediction was based on
extensive snow surveys of the
past spring. Measurements on
main watersheds and snow
courses indicated that the sea
son's run-off would range from
around normal to better, and
that most reservoirs would be
"well filled."
For Oregon as a whole the
department said the snow water
content on 89 per cent of all
courses was greater than in
1941 and in most cases was
greater than in 1940 and 1938.

land through the state was re
ported fully as good as last year
and better than average the
best of a decade in some dry
land farm areas," the report
aid.

ervoirs than for several years, i

able irrigation supplies, either
in storage or prospect.

Burnt river, in most of the in
terior basin, and on Crooked
