man villages by air bombard
ment was urged upon the Unit
ed Nations today by Jan Mas
aryk, Czechoslovakian vice-premier
and foreign minister, as re
taliation for the wiping out of
the whole Czech town of Lidice
by German vengeance squads.
Masaryk said he had received
many messages of sympathy
after the German announcement
Wednesday that the Bohemian
village of 1,200 had beep de
stroyed and all Its male inhab
itants killed for allegedly harbor
ing the two assassins of Rein
hard Heydrich.
In a formal statement issued
through the Czechoslovakian
legation, Masaryk expressed
gratitude for condemnation of
the Lidice incident by American
public opinion, but said "sym
pathy and condemnations are
not enough."
"It seems to me that the time
has come to pay the Germans
in kind," he added.
"I think that the brave, won
derful Dilots of the United Na
tions should destroy several)
German villages and for every
defenseless man, woman and
child in the occupied countries,
at least the same number of de
luded Germans should pay the

Hunt, Sr. of Myers Lane, owner

Lieut. Cecil Hunt, Jr., who is
stationed In Louisiana. Mrs.
Hunt informed the Mail Tribune
yesterday. Mrs. Hunt said num
erous telephone calls had been
received by he family enquiring
into the condition of the injured
Cecil Hunt, who is no relation
to the Hunt family of Myers

The war labor board delivered
a ultimatum today to 125 strik
ers at the Arkwright corpora
tion. Fall River, Mass., textile
concern, to return to work Mon
day or forfeit their Jobs.
In a telegram to each of the
strikers Chairman William H.
Davis of the WLB said the
strikers were guilty of "dis
loyalty and dishonor" because
of the circumstances of the
work stoppage.
The strikers are members of
an independent union, the Amer
ican Federation of Textile Op
eratives. Davis said the strike had
thrown 800 to 900 other em
ployes out of work, bringing
war production in the plant to
a standstill.

duction board restrictive orders.
