A group of selectees from board No. 1, Medford have gone to Portland where they will receive their physical examina tion before being inducted into the U. S. army, the ooard re vealed today. In addition to the group of Medford men were a number received from other boardi in Oregon and out-of date. The list Included Earl H. Sny der, Creighton F. Lawson, Ira Samuel Brooks. With a radio in the milking barns, his 180 cows have increased their production 30 gallons daily. WANT USED HUES I Portland, Ore., June 11. (JP) Used tires, suitable for re treading, will be purchased from motorists from June IS to July 4. Robert F. Strong of the RFC's loan agency said today. Strong, who will head the pro gram in Oregon, said the aim was to obtain all tires in excess of five owned by individual motorists and make them avail able to war Industry workers. OPA ceiling prices, lest recondi tioning costs, will be paid. The tires may be taken to the nearest railway express agency or to warehouses now being established in towns including Grants Pass, Medford and Ashland. Local civilian defense officials and those connected with the county salvage program said to day they had received no infor mation concerning the establish ment of a warehouse here to re ceive used Urea suitable for re treading and re-sale to war in dustry workers.
