Fined James B. O'Oonnell was fined $100 in the city police court yesterday on a charge of operating an automobile while under the influence of intoxi cating liquor. He was also sen tenced to 50 days in the city Jail and his driver's license was revoked for a year. To Corvallis M. L. Tedrow of 450 Haven street, fire assist ant of the Rogue River national forest, left by motor car Monday morning for Corvallis, where he will meet Mrs. Tedrow and their newly-born son. Donald, and re turn them to Medford. Mrs. Tedrow and Donald have been visiting Mr. Tedrow's parents in Corvallis since the baby was born. This will be the last meeting of the year and all members are urged to attend. T A call was issued today for five volunteers to help man an air raid lookout station in the city, and those wishing to co operate in this Important phase of civilian defense were urged to apply at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce as soon as possible. It was pointed out that dur ing this critical time all lookout stations must be constantly and effectively manned. Volunteers for this station can be either men or women, it was stated. He had no funds and was ordered com mitted to the county jail to serve it out. His liquor license was suspended. Boomer told the court he was employed as an electrician at the cantonment, and received $1.50 per hour. Boomer was fined $10 and costs last Saturday on a guilty plea to assault and battery in a complaint signed by his wife. He promised the court he would return to his Job and pay yester day. Instead, the state police picked him up on McAndrews road a short time after he had been freed. His wife, in a letter to him in Jail, told him she was leaving and had taken all his cash. Charles E. Bryant, charged with being intoxicated in a pub lic place, was fined $10 and costs. He was also committed to the county jail for inability to pay. FRED W. PENDLETON WET Pendleton, Ore., June 8 VP) Last month was the wettest May in Pendleton in 50 years, the local weather bureau an nounced today. Precipitation was 2.87 inches. It brought the year's total to 6.87. OIL PRODUCTION VP Buenos Aires (U.R) The Na tional Petroleum Board announ ced that crude oil production during 1941 amounted to 2.226.- 800 cubic meters, or 12.8 per cent greater than that of the previous year. ASKED FOR IT Pasadena, Cal. (UP) Film actor Onslow Stevens, arrested for speeding, asked to have his license suspended. He explained to the court that between bad traffic and the scarcity of tires, it was the only way he could keep his friends from asking him to take them places. The court was accommodating to the extent of six months.
