Ford Wed At Newberg Miss Dorothy Schaad, daugh ter of Mrs. Lucy Schaad of Newberg. Ore., and Lieut. Dean Wallace Ford, ion of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Ford of thii city, were married at a double ring ceremony last Sunday evening at the First Christian church in Newberg with Dr. C. W. Reynold of the First Christian church in Corvallii presiding. The bride, given In marriage by her brother, Gilbert scnaaa, wore dress of white chiffon and lace with fingertip veil edged in lace. She carried a fan-shaped bouquet of roses, nrrienias and sweet peas. Miss Bernlce Schaad, gowned la blue taffeta and carrying a bouquet of sweet peas and roses, was her sister'f maid of hon- p, kriHMmaicli were the hride's twin cousins, Lorraine i iVrrin, McAllister of Port 1 I TViv umra eowns of Old rose and carried old-fashioned nosegays. The ring bearer was little Kenneth Schaad of Redmond and the flower girl, little Dar lene Hlghtower of Eatonville, Wash. She wore a floor-length turquoise taffeta dress and car ried a basket of rose petals. Thayle Ford, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Ensign Myrl Mc Kee of Corvallis and Clyde Plants of Los Angeles. Miss Hazel Mary Houser played the wedding march and Bob Gwlnn accompanied by Mrs. H. Miller sang several numbers preceding the cere mony. A reception followed at the home of the bride's mother for a large group of friends. The bride first cut the wedding cake wh):h was later cut by Miss Elsie Schaad and Mrs. Law rence Hightower, sisters of the bride. Assisting in serving were Barbara Adam of Dallas; Viola Hoefer of Albany; Eleanor Quade of Oregon City and June Peltx and Janet Phipps of New berg. Edna Breeding, Elvis Schultz Wed At Church Married at the First Presy lerian church in Rogue River Sunday May 31 at 4 p. m. were Miss Edna Breeding, aaugmer of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Breeding of Rogue River and Elvis L. Schultz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Schultz of Ontario, Cal. The bride given In marriage by her father, wore a sheer pale blue dress with puffed sleeves and a corsage of Cecil Bruner rosebuds wilh a matching halo headdress. She was attended by her sister. Miss Dora, who wore a peach dress with a pastel sweet pea corsaite. J. Palmer. Open house will be held for their many friends between the hours of 3 and 6 n m Thm Palmers have resid ed in southern Oregon since 1911. Esther Isaac and B. J. Palm er were married- June 8, 1892 in Maple Park, 111, and moved with their family to Mearora in 1911 where Mr. Palmer en tered the music business in the present location of the J. C. Penney store, in ivi ne soia his establishment and retired, devoting his time to property interests and the Commercial Finance company of which ne (Photo Courtesy Shangle) was president for a number of years. Their five children, all daugh i.n rlria on the Pacific coast. Eleanor Evans of Auburn, Wash- Dorothy Thomas of Salem, ore., Esther Day of Grants Pass, and Marian Pierce and Alice Isaac of this city. All the children with the exception of Mrs. Evans of Auburn will be pres ent for the 50th anniversary celebration and also in attend ance will be several of their 11 erandrhildren. One grand son is in the U. S. military force in Chico, Cal. Mr. Palmer's sister, Mrs. Har riet Smith of Pasadena, who was bridesmaid at their wed ding SO years ago, is present for the occasion. Several Days At Hart Home Edison Marshall, novelist, left this morning for Weed, Cal., after spending several days in southern Oregon where he was the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hart at Central Point. Mr. Marshall Is working on an other novel, which will be of interest to his many friends in the valley. He left Medford about 13 years ago but has re turned on numerous occasions to renew acquaintanceships in southern Oregon where ne re sided for many years. During his short stay here he was honored at numerous social events, among them being a din ner Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. Cor ning Kendy Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. C. Rease Uraley entertained a group of friends and last night Mr. and Mrs. George Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Gain Robinson were co- hosts at an affair in Mr. Mar shall's honor. No. 3, O.E.S. of Jack sonville are leaving today for Portland to attend the annual session of Grand Chapter of Orpcon which ooens Monday with a reception in the Shrine ballroom of the Masonic tempie.
