Thomas of Ashland, involving the Pacific Record Herald building on Sixth street, has been continued until Thursday, upon request of Mrs. Stailey's attorney, R. R. Hewitt of Salem, who Is unable to be here until then. The case was originally scheduled to be heard today before Circuit Judge Her bert K. Hanna. W) First Lieut. Rex Paul Putnam, 21, son of State Superintendent of Pub lic Instruction and Mrs. Rex Put nam, was killed April IS in an accident while serving with the army overseas, his parents were notified yesterday by the war department.
