Reverend Paul Boyer of Ceres performed the ceremony in the Church of Christ I.. The bride wore tiock of ipowder blue and matching hat of straw with face veil. Her 'corsage was gardenias. Her (only attendant was Miss Ger ,aldine Melton, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a beige (dress and a matching straw hat. Wright of Phoenix, and Mr. Melton is the son of Mr and Mrs. Nelson tMelton of Vlsalla, Calif, t . Mr. and Mrs. Melton are Spending their honeymoon In Valencia and will reside In San !Jose. Greenland to be Cruise Topic c Mrs. Margaret Nason and 'daughter, Miss Margaret Nason 'will speak on "Greenland and the Northwest Passage" at the fourth of series of "armchair cruises" at the Girls Commu nity clubhouse Wednesday eve ning at 8 o'clock. They will show pictures taken during their trip to Greenland, making part of the Interesting voyage by freighter. The executive board, of the Girls Community club has been sponsoring a series of talks on countries throughout the world and the "cruise" is open to all women who are Interested with out charge. Miss Marcine Hazelton of Central Point and Keith Johnson. son of Mrs. George Prowell of Trail, were married by County Judge , B. Coleman Wednesday, Mr. Johnson, a grandson of Mrs. Edna Phillips of this commu nity is a telephone operator with the United States Marines, and was home on furlough, having been stationed In Iceland during the last year. From his northern post Mr. Johnson had visited Ire land as a member of convoy. The newlyweds, who were complimented with a party given by Upper Applegate grange Sat urday evening, left Monday for Santa Cruz, Cel., where they will remain until Mr. Johnson re ceives orders to sail, after which Mrs. Johnson will return to Cen tral Point. t Former Resident Weds Roseburg Girl Word has been received here of the marriage of Miss Patricia Mae Turner, daughter of Mrs. Ethel Turner of Roseburg and Robert L. Harris son of Mr and Mr. W. F. Harris, also of Roseburg, Easter Sunday morn ing in St. George's Episcopal church at 8 45 o'clock. The ceremony was read by the Rev. Perry Smith. Following the ceremony the couple left tor Portland and coast points and will return to Roseburw to make their home. Mrs. Harris Is employed in the Roseburg branch of the U. S. National bank and Mr. Harris will graduate from Oregon State college this spring. He resided in Medford last year, making his home at 416 South Central avenue. Women's Relief Corps At Carrie Young Home Women's Relief Corps will meet Wednesday at 2 p. m., with Mrs. Carrie Young, IS Rose ave nue, for the regular business ses sion. Circle Plans Annual Luncheon At a meeting of Loyalty Circle with Mrs. J. A. Carter Thursday of the rirst Methodist church plays were made for the sixth annual Mother-Daughter lunch eon which will be held May 6. Mrs. Fabrick Installed At Nile Queen Mrs. Margaret Fabrick of this city was Installed as queen of Zu lelma temple of Daughters of the Nile at installation services held Saturday evening at the Medford Masonic temple. The temple was decorated with Oriental rugs, and bouquets of white narcissis, tulips and fruit blossoms. Pre ceding the Installation a banquet was held at the temple attended by about 100 from Ashland, Grants Pass, Klamath Falls and Medford. Mrs. Austin Brownell of Grants Pass was toastmlstress. The tables were arranged with spring blossoms. Installing the new officers were Mrs. Sam Baker of Grants Pass; assisted by Mrs. H. B. Kel lom of this eity as marshall; Mrs. Ethel Boggs also of Medford as chaplain and Mrs. Lou Sabin of Grants Pass as musician. Three-year-old Margaret Selby, granddaughter of the new queen, presented her grandmother with a bouquet of roses. The affair was one of the largest Nile meetings to be held in Medford for some time. The dinner was attended by Nile members and their escorts, and Installation service was open to the public. Local Qirl Pledges Sorority. Miss Nadlne Davis, student at Oregon State college at Corval Us, has pledged Sigma Kappa so cial sorority. She is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Officers for Navy to Be Sought Hera For Radar Branch Seeking qualified technical men with college training to serve as commissioned naval officers on assignments of a highly confidential natuie, Lieut. H. E. Wlgle. aide to the director of naval officer procurement in beattle, will be at the Chamber of Commerce here all day Wednesday and Thursday to interview applicants. Lieutenant Wigle is seeking officers for the navy's new Radar branch, which deals with equipment a full step ahead of television in radio development Men who qualify will be given five months intensive training on the use and maintenance of such equipment training course at government expense which Is the equivalent of two years advanced college work. These men will be commis sioned kS officers Immediately and upon graduation from their training courses will be assigned to duty on pew secret devices to perform a highly important part in the navy's war plans. Lieutenant Wigle said amateur radio operators with college training physicists, electrical en gineers, experts on electrontcs and others trained In mathe matics or physics are eligible.
