Returns Home Mrs. Mary Helms has returned to her home at Klamath Junction after spend ing the past three months at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Addisen Helms of Los Angeles, Cal. To Leave Mrs. R. C. Fletcher of Louis avenue expected to leave this week-end for Port land, where she will Join her husband, who is convalescing from a recent illness. Mrs. Fletcher will remain in Portland indefinitely. To Portland Sergeant Monroe White, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. White, Route 2. and Private Kester Casad, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Casad of Griffin Creek, who have been visiting here for several days, will leave tonight for Portland where they are with the 29th engineers. Mother Dies Word has been received here of the death early this morning in Stockton, Calif., of Mrs. Myra Coffenberry, moth er of Mrs. Charles Adair of 924 West Main street. They will return to Port land tomorrow. i Violators Assessed Lawrence 'Shaun was fined $25 in city court yesterday on charge of reckless driving. Don Poling was fined $5 for having no muffler on his machine and Clyde Albert Melvin forfeited S5 bail fot operating without a license. Alpha Edwin Arthur forfeited S5 bail for failure to stop at a stop street and William Clark was assessed $2.50 for failure to give right of way. Kenneth Norwood's fine of $5 for operating with a void foreign license was suspended. Minor Collisions Slight dam age occurred yesterday when the passenger machines of G. H. Henson, 220 South Oakdale, and Frank Biery, Portland, collided cn South Grape street, accord ing to a report on file today. Collision of a passenger auto of Jack Kezer. Route 4, and the truck of D. Failing, project superintend ent at the Lava Beds CCC camp were here today conferring with officials at the Crater Lake Na tional Park office In the Medford federal building. Mr. Failing planned to continue to Oregon Caves today and will return to Medford tomorrow where he will be joined by Mr. Fisher on their return trip to the Lava Beds. Brazilian Vessel On Missing List Rio de Janeiro, April 7. UP) The Brazilian foreign minister announced today the disappear ance of the 3,557-ton Brazilian freighter Cabedello, which sailed from Philadelphia February 14 for Brazil and has been unre ported since. Four Brazilian ships previous ly had been sunk by axis sub marines. The last sinking was followed by extensive anti-axis riots in Rio de Janeiro in which numerous German business houses were smashed. Construction of the new Uni ted Air Lines passenger depot at Medford municipal airport will start immediately and be completed in 60 days, it was announced today by Frank C. Clark, architect. Brosterhous Construe tlon company of Klamath Falls was successful bidder on the project. at a figure slightly in excess of $15,000, and the wiring con tract was acquired by the Olsen Electric company of Medford. according to Mr. Clark. Frame Building The frame building will be 63 feet long and 42 feet wide, with the main lobby 25 by 41 feet in dimension. Also in the building will be the main of fice, ticket office, an operating room, a cargo room, utility and heating rooms, men's and wo men's rest rooms and a 12 by 16 foot storage room in connection with the structure. The lobby will be finished in knotty pine to a height of 10 feet with insulating plank above. Floors of all rooms will be of asbestos tile. The exterior will be constructed of Fitite shingled wall. A modern air-conditioning system will provide heating, and the building will have fluores cent lighting. Eastern Oregon 'Storage Better Canyon City, Ore.. April 7. (JP Eastern Oregon's mountain water storage is better than usual, but stockmen need warm weather at once to Improve early range conditions, the re gional water forecast committee said yesterday. A report blamed cold weather for delay In grass growth, but said prospects for the spring range in forest grazing areas were reasonably good, particu larly in the amount of water available for stock. This dinner has been given by the W. R. C. ladies for many years, and the Garden club has been asked to assist this year. Mrs. Pauline Tygart was appointed chairman of the din ner committee. Following a short business session, members and several visitors enjoyed a ta'k on daffodils, given by Mrs. Lillian Gentner of Medford, who brought over a hundred differ ent specimens. Each member took several -of these specimens home when Mrs. Gentner di-( vlded the entire collection with them. Next Garden club meet ing will be held April 17 when officers will be elected. Mr. and Mr. Norman Oall recently bought the Clyde Oalbreath property, north of town. They will rent the house and continue living here In Oold Hill. The Oalbreath have moved to Beech Creek, Oregon. Mr. and Mr. Kernel Butler and Mr. Claire palmer spent the week- end with relatives In Eugene and Portland. Mr. and Mra. Burt Johnson of Tula Lake, Cel., stopped here Tues day to visit relative. They were sc. companted by Mr. Johnson' mother and were en route to Crescent City, where she resides. She had spent the past few months visiting them since the reath of her husband. R. Copeland la now employed in the butcher shop at Gall's market and la living in an apartment over the post- office, belonging to Mra. Nellie Reed. Milton Stelnmets of Portland spent in week-end here with his family. Ml Margaret Helen Moulton of Medford waa a recent shiest of Miss Eileen Frost, for several daya. Mra. Roberta Mulltn Lyons of Los Angeles, called on relative and friends here, last week. She la a guest of her parents. Mr. and Mr. Art Mullln and family, at Medford. Mra. Clyde Mapel went to Portland last week, where she underwent a major operation. She le reported ea doing well and will visit at the bom of her daughter and aon-ln-law at Portland, before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Art Gorham and Donna returned home Wednesday from Portland, where Mr. Oorham took his physical for the army, and expects to be called sometime this month, for duty.
