Bicycle Stolen Mrs Arthur Johnson, Route 2, reported to city police that her Fleetwood Bicycle was stolen lart night while she was skating at the armory. The biccle bore a 1940 :icense. FALLS BURNS The planting of 80,000 pine and fir trees on the Rogue River National Forest will start Mon day, it was announced today at forest service headquarters. Seventy thousand Ponderosa pine trees will be planted by CCC Camp South Fork earollees on an old burn Just northeast of Butte Falls. The Medford water shed embraces this area. Seven thousand Shasta fir trees will be pkinted by mem bers of the same CCC camp on Blue Rock in the Butte Falls district. This Is an experiment to determine whether Christmas trees can be raised in tnis area, as those near the roads and highways are becoming thinned cut, forest service headquarters explained. Three thousand White pine trees will be planted near Castle Creek in the Union creek dis trict, on area cut over from a umber- sale. Planting cost will be taken care of by the timber stand improvement deposit made by the purchaser of the timber. The trees, four to six Inches tall, were grown at the Wind River nursery, Carson, Wash., from local seed. Dixon, 25 soldier of Bonne ville, to the Vancouver barracks hospital with serious gunshot wounds. Police Sgt. Jim Purcell said O. D. Taylor, 29 Portland, was held on a charge of assault with intent to kill and that his com panion, Loretta Ewing, Portland, was retained as a material wit ness. Purcell said the shooting ap parently followed an argument over Miss Ewing who suffered superficial gunshot and knife wounds. Three to five bee hives will keep a farm family supplied ith honey.
