Spring wheat harvested acreage last year was 16.284,000 and production was 274.644.000 bushels. The ten year harvested acreage was 16, 742,000 and average production, 178,090,000 bushels. The acreages for this year. the department explained, are based on reports from farmers in all parts of the country on or about March 1 anr are inter pi - unions thereof based on past reUtionshlps between such re ports and acreages actually planted. The report is aimed to assist growers in making such further changes In their acreage plans as might appear desirable Plantings Listed Ths Intended plantings of other crops, with comparative figures tor 1841 and 1931-40 average plan'ings; last year's harvested acreage and produc tion.
