The state parole board will fix
the minimum sentence.
Illingworth was returned here
last fall after the body of a
woman recovered from Lake
Crescent had been identified,
by a dental plate, as that of his
wife, missing since 1937.

TO PAY ON TAXES
There was less borrowing for
payment of Income taxes than
was expected this year, Eugene
Thorndike, local First National
Bank president, said today.
Borrowing was only slightly
above normal, Thorndike said,
although expectations war
much higher because of war
conditions.
Thorndike commented on the
good spirit with which the peo
ple met their tax obligations.

A U. S. navy communique disclosed that the Submarine Sea Lion (top) had been so damaged at
the navy yard in Cavite, P. I., that it was destroyed deliberately to keep it out of Jap hands, and
