A paper sack lun cheon will be served at noon. Miss Marian Farrell will be pre sent and subject of discussion will be "Women in Law." Cow Killed A Dodge truck driven by Edward W. Kramer, no address listed, was slightly damaged last night when it struck and killed a cow, accord ing to report on file. Accident happened north of the Four Corners on the Crater Lake highway. Minor collision in volving a Ford coupe operated by Jack Davis, no address listed, and an unidentified truck at the intersection of Midway and Wellen roads was reported yesterday. Moves Here Lynn Cram of Eugene, who was recently ap pointed district manager for the Medford area for the Northern Life Insurance company and Mrs. Cram have taken up resi dence in Cargill court. Mr. Cram, who has been in the in surance business for the past five years, has been located at Eugene, where he was assistant district manager. Previous to that he resided in Bend. The Crams have one son, Roger, who is stationed at Fort Lewis with the U. S. army. Mr. Cram is affiliated with the I.O.O.F. lodge and the First Baptist church. Max Henne arrived from Oak land, early this morning. Leav ing were Mrs. T. Peat and B. Geary, to Seattle and G. Hughes, to Portland. J. Dyer departed for Red Bluff, Cal., last mid night. Leaving last night for Portland were A. Isaacs, G. God frey, A. Fleishman and R. Meany. Arriving on the early night northbound last night were G. Burnett and Mrs. Peat from Oakland and Geary from San Francisco. Departing for Port land were S. Mendenhall, Eino Hemmila, E. Schaeffer, T. Skeen and P. Woods. Arriving late last evening were T. Henry and G. Yerby from Portland and W. Riddock, from Seattle. Leaving were S. Flam, to Los Angeles and Miss H. Mieth, to Oakland. Arriving from San Francisco yesterday afternoon were H Wilmott and R. Wilmott. Leav ing for Portland were E. De voe, L. Louderback, W. Moore and H. Cain. W. McMininee ar rived from Portland yesterday afternoon. Leaving were A. Gustafson and N. Gentry, to Oakland and J. Collins, to San Francisco. In)ur Foot Chester Cole of 729 Welch street is receiving medical treatment in Commun ity hospital following an acci dent in which a heavy iron pipe fell across his feet, breaking two toes and smashing several otl era. Cole is employed at the Southern Pacific freight depot. FBI Meeting Traffic and air raid problems from the light of England's experience in the war were discussed this noon by traveling FBI men, J. D. Swen son and John McCulloch, when they met with county and city police officials in the county courthouse. The two men were to leave for Bend this afternoon. Her Yesterday J e r r a I d Owens of Salem, state coordina tor of civilian defense, stopped in this city yesterday and con ferred with civilian defense leaden. He reported the local defense setup was working fine. Owens spoke briefly at the meeting of air-raid wardens last evening at senior high school and is spending today in Klam ath Falls. . Coat Stolen J. W. Schaup puer, 910 Stevens street, report ed to city police yesterday that a brown leather coat had been stolen from his car. Schaup puer said the coat may have been taken from the car at the Midway road four corners. He described the coat as site 44 with loose belt, blanket lining, cuffed sleeves and overlap pockets. Arrives Here Mr. and Rob ert Stedman of Eugene arrived here last evening by motor for several days' visit with Mrs. Stedman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lofland, 225 South Oak dale avenue and Mr. Stedman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Stedman of Phoenix. Both ere former Medford residents. Mr. Stedman is attending University of Oregon. Promoted Theodore Taylor. son of L. C. Taylor, 204 Van couver avenue has been pro moted to first sergeant in com pany G, 186th Infantry at Fort Lewis, according to word re ceived here. Taylor left Medford as a private with Company A, local national guard unit and was transferred to company G. His father is owner of L. C. Taylor, Inc. ' City Court Cases tried In the city court today included that of Kenneth Hamburg, Phoe nix, fined $5.00 for failure to stop at a stop street, and those of Joseph Jerrimiah White and Raymon Elspar, each assessed S10.00 or five days in jail on charges of drunkenness. STAGE SETS FOR FRIDAY PAGEANT By Thelma Kaplon m All stage construction work for the pageant-concert to be presented Friday evening at the senior high school is being pre pared this week by the shop and art department, under direction of L. A. Mentzer and Mrs. Doro thea Yeo. These sets, in keeping with the pageant theme. "The Lady of Shallot," will have a series of colorful and interesting scenes, each with a real mediev al background. Art work has been principally carried out by these students: Seely Hall, Jack Moran, Jean ette Showers, Alicen Aya, and Betty Hughes.
